Lol ! Looks like Jim Lynch of extremetech was pretty pissed off at Sony when he wrote the article. Hilarious article though !

You're a Loser

Before I go into the details of why the PS3 launch was such a disaster and why so many people involved in it at all levels are losers, let me clarify exactly who I'm talking about as far as what a PS3 loser is and please note that, although I'm focusing on the PS3 launch, some of this also extends to Xbox and Nintendo gamers as well.

You're a loser if...

* You paid $500 and up for a video game system.

* You camped out anywhere to buy one for your personal use.

* You camped out anywhere to buy one and then try to dump it on eBay or some other auction site for a massive profit.

* You were stupid enough to fall for Sony (and Nintendo and Microsoft's) pretend shortages designed to stoke consumer angst and create a media event around the launch of a videogame system.

* You're a parent and you actually bought a PS3 for your kid because of the hype.

* You're a Sony executive and you thought your system would rule the roost...joke's on you, Nintendo is outselling you. Your system costs too much, thanks to your decision to use it to try and force Blu-Ray onto the world.

* You're a game developer and you develop exclusively for the PS3.

Next-Gen system+Cheapest high quality Blu-Ray player+Linux+Misc other features like bluetooth, 20gig harddrive etc.

All this for only a 100 bucks more than X360 with no next-gen player? Its deal!

People camped out for Wii when they had no reason to do it, Ps3 campers did. So if they're a loser, so are Wii's.

This would actually spell a WINNER, because he just made a lot of cash by just standing, buying and selling.

I'm sure if any parents would've bought it for their kids..they really aren't buying it for their kids, they are buying it for themselves first, as its the cheapest high quality Blu-Ray player, a future replacement to DVD's and a needed essence for those with HDTV's.

looks like he is just regretting not camping outside stores n selling it on ebay cause he missed out on a huge profit.
 
guys did nyone check out Jan's Electronic Gaming Mag........they compared Wii and Ps3......and Wii was the clear cut choice becoz of the 2 most Important things:-

1. Price
2. Release Titles (and no doubt at all Resistance looks good......but other game titles are sad)

so maybe this Lynch guy has a point abt the "price" factor.......
 
I dunno why params even countered those points. Did u read the article ? Those remarks are directed towards Playstation losers not fans......

lol i know. Although i don't totally agree with that point but his main bone of contention of raising that point is that other console which offer more fun (Wii) and the same horsepower(x360)(even trumping it in graphics) is available for less.

PES/WE series are for both 360 and PS3, cud u tell me any title developed by konami which is ps3 exclusive?

What's the complex here anyways, the article is aimed at all those who have bought the Ps3 (something which I am planning to do), how is it not natural to respond to such obvious biased claims?

Good! I thought you were just one of those rabid fanboys who took offense to the slightest negativity thrown in the direction of Sony.

Also, MGS4 is pretty much implied when we're talking Konami and the PS3.
