Playstation 3 Queries (PS3 owners help)

I have a few queries reg PS3 bought from Sony World, New Delhi -

1) When I tried registering in PSN through the console itself - it kept forwarding me to the registration page in which everything was in Russian. No matter where i clicked, everything still in Russian. Why so ? :@

2) I went on to register in PSN through my PC. Why does not the registration page have India listed in its drop down menu ? I had to register with Uk addy. :@
3) My PS3 sometimes reads Wifi, sometimes it doesn't. I have to try atleast t4-5 before it works. My wifi is working absolutely fine, even the PS3 shows 80 pc signal strength. But it still fails in "exchanging keys" process 4 out of 5 times. Once its connected then it works fine. :@

4) So the PS3 doesn't have any audio out ? I am currently using HDMI cable to connect it to my HDTV. If I want to use wireless headphones, I have no choice but to use audio out of the tv ? :@

5) I want BT wireless headphones with mic which are PS3 compatible for online gaming. When I say headphones, i mean 2 channel stereo/surround headset & not that 1 ear BT device. <-- Is there any such thing ?

Also pls suggest a decent wireless headset which I can connect to TV audio out, for general TV viewing...

1) maybe your country is selected somewhere as russian which is why it kept forwarding you to the russian page. check the console settings. i never had such a problem.

2) PSN is not launched in india which is why there is no indian page. it is expected to launch this year. you have regd on uk site which is fine. you can have multiple a/c for psn for diff regions.

3) some routers have problems with the ps3 with connection drops. which router are you using? netgear is known to work properly with ps3. also do check all the port forwarding settings.

4) PS3 has hdmi & optical out for audio. so your only solution for headphones is bluetooth.

1) Create a new user and try registering using country India and then try registering with PSN.

2) Creating a new user should solve most of your problems.

3) What is your firmware version. I have been having lot of problems with wifi as well Sometimes it shows connected but i cannot get an ip address. These problems have arrived after recent updates. Though i dont require 4-5 of connect/disconnect I just have to disable/enable the network once. Try removing the encryption and use open mode and check if it works.

4) Can't help you in this matter as i am using optical out which goes into my amp.

5) Try these headphones Sennheiser Worldwide - Evolution Kopfhörer Mikrofon Akustik they are the best for TV Viewing.

Ans: I faced the same problem, However, there are options for you to change the language i think. Isnt a big problem

Ans: Its better, as you can now use friends, which is not possible with an Indian id.
 
For the wifi connection, if you want to download demos and stuff, id recommend a wired connection. I dont know why, but the wifi works too slow for me even when the router and PS3 are at a distance of 1 feet :(
 
Thanks a lot guys, btw once connected to my Linksys WRT54G, downloads work full steam. But then ofcourse I have to try 3-4 times before it actually gets connected.

Turtle Beach's Px1 are damn expensive. :-/
Yet to decide on headset..

there is a problem on your end. the wifi works perfect for me. gives full speeds.

Its not only me..if u do a google search you'll find hundreds of people with the same problem :ashamed:
 
I have noticed that the wifi receiver on the PS3 is not as powerful as the one in my laptop.

So when my Wifi and the PS3 are placed on the same desk in my room, the laptop connects and browses successfully the PS3 keeps getting signal drops.

Yea but if in good range.....it runs flawlessly.

I have had problems with the security settings on the PS3.....the PS3 wouldnt take WPA2. Later I figured that the netgear I had, had compatibility problems with that particular firmware version.

So I upgraded the wifi router firmware.......still no luck!

So then I downgraded to WPA.....and it worked....

+1.. it takes ages for me to update the firmware.. :@
so i have to update via the usb storage.. :no:
 
guys even i hav a prob of sorts.
th only means of getting bb here 4 me is BSNL 3G.that means no net without pc.
so is there any way i cud configure this connection in such a way so that i can share it with the PS3 over lan?
hav tried Vista/Win 7 s builtin ICS but that didnt work for me.maybe didnt do it correctly.
so guys plz help me.
 
Dude I don't know much about Bsnl 3g but if you can tell me how you connect your PC to internet , then I'll be able to help you. Like what modem/router are you using & in what mode are they configured...
 
i am using ics myself to share the net from my pc to the ps3.

please tell all the net settings etc in detail so we can help you out. or you can add me on msn/gtalk or mail me.

Details:
I access net by using my HTC TyTN II as a modem.when u use a Windows Mobile as a modem for accessing net the network gets created as a 10mbps LAN.the device itself being detected as a Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device.

if u want any further details just lemme know.
