any1 knws how to render photorealistic image in 3DS Max 9 with 3rd party render Splutterfish Brazil r/s 1.2.66?? please help me..if the thing is in the lighting,,temme about it too..am tryin hardly 2 months to get it done..but no use..

Is it your scene or someone else's, you have absolutely no info here for anyone to give you proper advice. Please post some details.

I agree with what PP said.

Also, its just not about the renderer (Brazil in this case), the modeling, (very important) - the texturing, the lighting setup and rendering method, all work to make a photorealistic scene.

i'm ok wit modelin 'n texturing:hap2:..i want to know the lighting setup 'n rendering method..so can u help me??

Google for a guy called Neil Blevins on the web. He used to write tuts for Brazil renderer. I don't know if he still does, it has been many years now. But you can probably still find all the good stuff he has written (and not just limited to Brazil). Google is a big help, you know... :)

How is your lighting setup now? What type of rendering are you doing? Is there ambient lighting in the scene or just the lights you have setup yourself. It can be hard sometimes to mix stock ambient lighting and then add your own lighting and get it right.

Why not Brazil, kippu? I think its a pretty good one.. :D I started life with that one.. ages ago.. even before that stage0 fr thing.. Ever notice that all these render companies seem to originate in Germany? says something about their nature?

But I agree... not for a beginner.. However, to court more controversy.. I would suggest going with MR.. (though I avoid it myself)..

Edit: Tony, you have been trying for two months to get a photoreal image? Then I think you are pretty much on your way to becoming a good 3d artist. Ok, some other things: the texturing and modeling also figure in making things photoreal. So it might not just be lighting alone that is a problem. As others have suggested before me, either upload the max file or post a few test renders here.

come on kishore ... for a beginner the best thing to start is vray , just looking at the number of tutorials and learning material out there ...later on he can shift the concepts to MR , FR or even brazil :D

yep.. that is true.. except, when I was a FR user aeons ago, I took one look at vray (1.09 i think it was) and ran away for years. Of course, can't live without it now...
