All thoz members who are using HD 4670 .. pls post ur CPU, GPU & approx Room temp at ideal as well as on full load while playing heavy games like crysis ... Actually I've purchased Leadtek 9600GT which is running 55*C at ideal and 78*C at load :( ... so I'm luking to replace it wid HD4670 ... also post of which brand ur HD4670 is ??

thnx in advance ....

I came to know from a guy dat he is running Palit 9600GT at 56*C at full load :O ... dis makes me feel dat my card is running at very high temp :(

:lol: he may have better case cooling , temperature not only depends on card but ambient temp and fans installed in cabby also .

palit has non reference cooler so it should run cooler . but ur temps are fine for single slot reference cooler .

I also tried to installed a 120mm fan which works on AC (Alternating current) ... it is a very powerful fan ... & blows air much faster than normal 120mm DC fan ... but still no temp drop for me! :(

:rofl: dude u are comparing vs 4670 , single slot cooler of 9600GT always runs at around 70C + . these cards are made such that they can handle temps upto 90C fine .

u can do one thing , open ur card and apply fresh thermal paste . it should drop temps little bit . also post a pic of ur setup :p

thanks to all for posting their temp ... now its easy to conclude dat my 9600gt runs abt 10*C higher both at ideal as well as load :(

but now 512MB GDDR3 is not available .... only 1GB DDR3 is their which is slower.

512MB GDDR3 == 1000MHz
1GB DDR3 == 873MHz

So I'll stick wid my 9600gt ... hope it will not burn up!

thanks once again to all ..

I have Sapphire HD 4670 DDRIII, 1GB. 45-50 *C when idle and upto 80 *C at load. Can someone suggest a good VFM GPU cooler.

Hold your horse,

1. Increase the fan speed from default 20% to 50% using Catalyst driver, you need to adjust the fan speed as per your requirement.

2. Check your cabinet - Is it well ventilated ? Is it messed up with cables and lots of other devices like multiple devices.a good well ventilated cabinet will help you lowering the overall temperature of all your peripherals thus increasing their life and performance. You need at least two fan (120mm ) - one at front to suck cool air and one at rear to exhale the hot air.

3.check of dust - on the fans- clean your cabinet and fan weekly/monthly depending how dusty your place is.

good luck
