How is a POV BLACK DIAMOND 500W when it comes to a 4870 or something ?

Currently running a HD 4850 on a POV Black Diamond since 6 months. . no issues.

HD4870 needs 30~40W more power then HD4850, now do the math on POV BLACK DIAMOND 500W.

Hi Every one,

I am planning to upgrade from a 7300 gt 512 MB card to either 9800 gt to Ati4850. I need a good psu that will be able to provide the required juice for the system.

Following are my pc config details:

Motherboard: Asus P5B-VM
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.8 GZ
Ram - Kingston 667 mgz 1 GB X 2
Hard Disk: 1 Samsung IDE 160 GB, 1 WD SATA 500 GB
Optical Drive: Samsung DVD Writer
Cabinet: Cooler Master Elite - 335
Monitor: AOC 416 V 24 inch (1920x1200)

My budget is 3 K. If possible I need something in 2.5k-3k range.

Get Gigabyte 460W PFC SMPS available at lynx for about 2.5k only.

Then get a HD4770 with it.
