Hi,
I live in Chennai and am in need of a headphone. (Immediately) Have time till Wednesday afternoon to buy it.
Purpose of buying: Usage with laptop, PC and mobile(Samsung Monte S5620)
Budget: 4000INR (Cant afford a penny more)
Details: Looking for a closed headphone. I use the headphone for Music/ movies and gaming.(In the ratio 70 : 30)

Did some research and wanted to but ATH M50 but since its too costly am looking to buy ATH M35. Pristine Note displays its price as 3400 rupees with 72 rupees shipping charge. Am not a big fan of online buying. So called up Mahavir in Ritchie Street and they Quote the price as 3600 INR. Is that the right price or do i need to bargain ? Coming to the headphone, the cons of the headphone are a concern for me. First one is the cable length. But i think i can manage it. Second one is the power it draws. Will my laptop and mobile work with this ? Am not looking for too much portability though in every travel i will take the headphone along.

So is the M35 my only option or do i have better options ? All opinions are welcome. My previous purchase in audio segment was a Sennheiser Earphone cx 180.
So kinda new to the concept of buying the best Headphone.

+1 to audiotechnica

Mahavir gets their audiotechnica products from prestine note.

My suggestion is to buy directly from prestinenote dealer present on TE.

If you want to buy locally look for sennheiser they are readily available.

You could also look at the Senn Px range, something you can fold away. It will help to carry it around. Audio Technica range might also have something like that.

You could get a JVC RX700. I'm selling mine, but it was great for music and movies. Only problem is lynx is the only place I could find them. They're also quite moddable.

Check out the market section; RX700, AD700, SHP9000 all are good headphones currently on sale and in your price range :hap2:

However, none of the headphones mentioned(including M50/M35) are intended for outdoor use though they should run well enough with your laptop/pc (except maybe the RX700). So imo the best option would be to get a headphone for use with the PC(the long cable comes in handly especially while watching movies) and an iem for use with the laptop/mobile which will be easy to drive and isolate and not look awkward in public. T200+M2 or second hand headphone(2-2.5k)+ProAlpha/M1 iem could be possible combos.

Or for convenience
