CPU/Mobo Pls recommend a good config

I am planning to upgrade my current pc of over 3 yrs

Current config

P-4 2.4 ghz
Via chipset mobo
256 mb 400 mhz ddr ram
XFX Geforce Mx4000 graphic card (6mts old)
Samsung HDD 40 + 80 gb (pata)
Sony DVD writer
Pinacle Tv tuner card

I have a budget of upto 20k(20,000rs)
I am planning to upgrade my cpu,mobo and ram. I wanted to go for AM2 but it hasnt arrived at lamington yet. It seems it will take atleast 6 mts more for it to come. My current priority is a good cpu + mobo and atleast 1 gb ram. i have my eyes set on amd 3500+(soc 939) and asus a8n-sli combo which is available for around 15K(month old price from lamington). Please suggest a good config which will do good for atleast 2yrs without a sweat. I am into 3d and gaming.

Errr....Are u not forgetting something ??? The Graphics Card ?? If u wanna go for the A8N-E or the SLI, then you'll have to spend on getting a graphic card too.

I think AMD X2 3800 - 8.5K

Asus A8N-E - 5.5K

512 x 2 DDR 400 RAM - 3.5K

Remaining - 2.5K

sell ur graphics card and try to get a 2nd hand graphics card in ur budget now.

Rest upgrade ur graphics card.. No point in doing 3D and games without a good graphics card.

hi he rest of the config stated above is good bu try the FX series very good for gamming and go for a 1GB ram of at leas 667Mhz socket AM2 has a problem with the 800Mhz DDR rams but some boards do support 800Mhz rams and get your self a 6800GT(only GT series hey are great GS is not good ) .
i hope you find it in Rs. 20000 ,Best of luck
Try waiting for the CONROE it's makes p4's and amd look like crap and starting Rs 8000 .

not if he chooses to go with Asrock 939Dual-sata2 :P

that way , he saves more money . in this case, he can sell off his MX card and get a second hand 6600gt
