Please suggest a good laptop

Budget? 24K to 28K Max.
Primary usage: VoIP chats using yahoo /gtalk /similar chats, email, websurfing, etc., must have webcam.
Screen Size: 14" to 15"
Must have webcam
a trustworthy brand.

With the constraint of your budget and larger screen size of 14+ inches, there are only a few options (mostly Dual Core only, as getting Core 2 Duo in this budget would be tough):

1). Acer Aspire 4736

2). Acer Aspire 5738

3). Lenovo G530/G550

4). Samsung R517

I would personally prefer Acer Aspire 5738 or Lenovo G530/G550

asus laptops are well made and good.......msi would replace a motherboard in 48 hours--2 days and give a new board to you---which means both are fast and both have good build quality.also in a recent survey asus was the most reliable brand when it came to laptops.
 
acer aspire 4736z hands down for ur requirement n budget

dont get that expensive vaio netbook for that price as ur usage may increase from just chatting to some other usage as well

so be on a safer side ad get acer 4736z

Don't like netbooks or atom processors... Its a gut feeling which I can't overcome... :)

Large screen is not needed, but webcam is a must.
14" or 15" LCD will do.

Took Acer Aspire 4736z laptop (from Singapore though).

Its available for around 29K here.

Initial feel: OK. Win7, DDR3 RAM, etc. feels OK.

I have been trying to RMA my one year old MSI P 45 Neo F. (none of the USB ports working) All their websites are either down or reported as blocked due to malicious content. Managed to mail them all the details, 10 days back. Still no reply. Googling for a service centre in Kerala didn't help either.
