Buddie

Get Bose companion 3 series 3 speakers. Available in India for Rs 13K. Those small satellite speakers are enough not only to shake you but also your neighbours.

Just pop in to any of the Bose retail shores to experience the sound quality. I am using companion 3 and 2. I just have one word to describe it.

AWESOME.

Don't be stuck up and do some research before you plonk $1k down the drain. You can get MUCH better stuff for the same price in India itself.

Search this forum for other threads on Bose and why they suck SO hard.

^ hes using a gift voucher looks like so let him choose something in peace :bleh:

Lol, the thread title drew me in! BOSE ftw!

But seeing the OP has to use up a vouch, Bose for free is not a bad deal.

1. Sell the voucher on eBay for $1000

2. Get the Dynaudio BM5A. Exact same price, and will blow the Blose out of the water.

3. If you sell the voucher with a discount (say 900 greens), you can still get a system much better than anything Mr. Bose ever made.

Seriously, don't get Bose. They don't know their head from their arse when it comes to speakers, and confound buyers with lifestyle statements without specs or allowing any direct comparisons.

If you want to pick up a clock radio or something like the wave radio, those products aren't too bad. But if it's a proper sound system (speakers + amp) you want, get anything but a Bose. It's not even worth the free price tag.

Seriously, what cranky has suggested is the *right* thing to do :)

For the record, some of the stuff that Bose made early on was very good. They lost the plot and are now a company of marketing fools, that create stuff that looks good but sounds amateurish. I have nothing personally against them, and if there's really no option I've suggested the Wave Radio. It still sucks, but maybe just not as bad as it limits the damage to one box.
