LCD TV 32" or bigger (full HD)

All possible :)

Additional features not required. Just want to play HD rips from the USB HDD or pendrive to the TV. Currently using the PC as media player by connecting the PC to the TV.

Budget? The market is flooded with Chinese knockoffs from as cheap as 3.5~4k upwards.

I'd recommend the AC Ryan POHD Mini - retails for ~6.5k last I checked. The Xtreamer is slightly pricier and is another good alternative. There are several other players from unknown and unheard brands which has good firmware support as well.

I am sorry to hijack this thread, but I was avoiding making another thread for this. I am too looking to invest in a good media player but for me, the user interface is extremely important. The Xtreamer Ultra has XBMC and windows 7 support, does other media players have such features too? I would be connecting the media player to an external 1TB drive and hence will have access to hundreds of movies and TV shows and XBMC is the best way to browse through all that.

This thing is essentially a PC : http://xtreamer.net/ultra/

I have PlayOn HD Mini 2 which has one of the best GUI amongst all player if you are a movie junkie then PopKorn Hour is one stop solution

I have the Patriot Box Office (now called PBO Core) and while the interface isn't great it really is terrific bang for the buck and can play almost any format you'll throw at it.

proud owner of asus o play mini , and my 100% recommendation for it.

Just to let u know if you plan to play 1080p and bluray ISO you will have problems with Asus oplay afaik it starts to shutter anything which has bit rate of above 15mbps

^First off, there are very few folks who actually keep bluray isos which account for sizes anywhere from 25GB~40GB in size. Most of us have blu-ray rips which have way lower bit-rates. The O!Play is sufficient to handle those. So that isn't some sort of benchmark for a player for something that is worth 3.5k.

I am also using the PlayOn HD Mini 2 for the past couple of months and am pretty satisfied with it.

It can play almost everything, can act as a torrent down loader, and right now I am using it to play avi rips over a wireless network at my home and it works just fine.

You can also surf quite good on this (although limited i wuld say).
Note: If you buy this then get a USB keyboard if you use it to surf youtube or any other video sites using this. :)

ASUS has also launched a enhanced version of the O!Play Mini known as 'O!Play Mini Plus'.

Adds eSATA support, RJ-45 LAN Port, in-built 802.11n WiFi and Internet content & services.

No word on the pricing and local availability ... if not, it should be available soon ;)

@OP: Sorry to hijack your thread but I just wanted to ask - Does any player support ogm extension. Will need it for anime (old ones) and don't want to convert each file and play. If not is there a workaround for it?

@dinjo: I suppose WD TV Live (WDBAAN0000NBK) is a gen 2 player. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The site WD TV Live does not mention support for OGM.

Will it require a firmware update or a custom firmware to play the files?

Thanks.
