Trying to get an idea of how many hours in the yr, ppl use their AC's.

pls reply in the following format

City : --
Number Hours/day : --
Which Months in the year : --

Its almost always hot and humid in Mumbai.

So My AC is usually always on except a month or so in winter when its really not needed. and during few chilly rainy days in Monsoon.

Temp set at 26C. usually and 23C for 6 hours in the night. I tend to go to sleep early if its cold :p

So its atleast 12 hours a day.

12hrs/day for 10 months of the yr !! :O

Is this typical for others in mumbai too ?

City : Surat
Usage :
Office about 8/10 hours daily (6 days a week) full year barring a few weeks in peak winter (3/4 weeks)

Home about 6/7 hours at night for 4/5 months a year. (As my home falls in wind direction its relatively bearable in winters and monsoons)

Surat is almost same as mumbai in heat and humidity so office cant be kept without ACs.

City: Palakkad, Kerala;

Usage: 14 hrs/day @ 26'C during the night and 24'C during the day;

AC: Carrier Estrella 1.5T;

Months: Usually all months except winter;

well depends on the person and rooms.

My room is east facing. And there are no cross windows. So ventilation is poor.. So its either get cooked or use AC. :p

And having PC in the room does not help things :p
