Well .... with all the things going on in the past few weeks , like Blocking ports, No Torrents , no Dc++ , and now No Orkut , What do u guys think we should do about Sify ???
( Though the problems are mainly faced by maharashtra users , others are welcome for their opinion )
 
if they think they are wise... then let them know that we r wiser... and make an good choice this time...

they cant restrict access to certain sites...

yeah.......so till now 100% people believe in a mass shift.......lesse see for a dayor 2 before we blow the Sify minds away :)
 
well---
i would sue sify (if this was not india)
i would switch to different,better ISP (if this was not india)
but the bottomline is...this IS INDIA...

if they dont get along opening that torrent service, i would be forced to look for dirtier tricks to get that working

havent thought of any at the moment...
first thing would be to call up their customercare.
IF they agree that are blocking and would contiue to do that forever....maybe then :)
 
I switched from Sify to another ISP due to this stupid limits.

Why bother telling sify that they are acting stupid by posing such restrictions.

Simply switch over to other ISP when there sales will decline they will

themselves try to analyze why ppl are shifting from there ISP to others.

just switch.. and at one point they`ll have to innovate to survive. then we`ll see who has the last laugh...
 
These ISP's never change . sooner or later Airtel will go the sify way ... its no choice , just switch to the lesser devil .
 
ok guys...to tell ..u the mistake is not of SIFY broadband for this banning of torrents and DC ++..cauz as far as i know ..and my experience. i have always got a good response from the customer care side..it is the **** cable operator or the one who takes the franchise..who i doing all this in navi mumbai.. and that is SSV cables.

cauz if u see the other Sify customers .in other parts of mumbai and thane still have good DC++ and torrents and stuff working ...so it's only a problem..with the navi mumbai provider..

also SIFY isnt tht bad..cauz looking at my records..i must tell u .i never had a NET problem or downtime ..for even a single hour in the past 3 months..though i had..infinite problems..before..

even on a 64 kbps connection .i usually get 10-11 kbps of download speed..other than this and torrents i dont expect anything..more..

but DC++ and stuff is like bonus..which i think they should provide..as they have been providin. before !!

I KNOW ITS A BIG SUPRISE TO SEE A PRAISE FOR SIFY. BUT ITS TRUE..I AM HAPPY WITH THEIR NET SERVICE FOR PAST 3 MONTHS..ATLEAST CAUZ AT NITE SOME TIMES..MY NET GOES ON DRUGS/DOPING ..AND GIVES A 250 KBPS HIGH DWNLD SPEED (i knw it's unbelievable)

and this is for the SIFY customers from navi mumbai as well as other places who have problems..and want to get it permanently or fixed within a day or early as possible..directly u can contact the higher authorities..in here

i sent a mail through this page and the next day i got a call from the HEAD of customer care as well as the asst. manager called RAVI .all the way from CHENNAI asking for what the real problem .is and if the SSV cables are really playing games with us and i just politely said tht torrents are very much legal.(though most of us use for *ahem* stuff) and they are P2P downloading software..and i also told him that if everything. is not perfect within a week .

around 200 customers of sify broadband from navi mumbai will have

NEW INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER THIS NEW YEAR....

he was really like..wanted to help me..and has told me that he will talk to mumbai manage and do something..about it..and is gonna call me back today

now let's see...what happens...
 
Well maybe that is tight ....but the thing is that the problem is that Navi Mumbai Users hav one of the strongest dc++ network......maybe thats the problem..but wat the problem here is their blocking sites which they hav no right to all because of political behaviour.......it ends with the coustomer being on the losing side, which none of us want.......So whether its the SSV or its SIFY , unless there is a new operator , we hav no other choice than to shift another ISP or really talk Sify into mending its ways .......
 
Well I too was a satisfied Sify customer for almost two years.....But then the problems started cropping up......My net would get disconnected at nights....

I called up CC and mailed them several times.....Sure their service was prompt....I mean,an engineer would come to my house the very next day, but the problem could never be solved......Even the engineer who came to my place was boasting away about how sify handles a problem....There are ppl who work round the clock to solve customers problems etc etc......But the bottomline is that inspite of all this my problem was never solved....

There was even a problem with my billing which was never looked into....I got frustrated with Sify and I shifted to MTNL triBAnd.....And I am happy to say that I 've had no problems with MTNL till now...

SSV cables is damned...but for navi mumbai, i dont think we still have better options to consider than sify
any1 talked to sify cc?

ya torrents up a bit..........but who talks to sify cc ???? ive tried ....all they do is deny ne charges ....lol

yup i had a talk with sify cc..but only the higher authorities..and they really .respond back quickly..and try solving.problems..the call operator at local SSV office is dumb..and just sits there and flirts with the stupid technicians !!!:@:@
