It seems I am screwed too, I bought my Asus P5B-Dlx-Wifi from thrissur through a friend and started using it here in Delhi, the board was imported by Rashi Peripherals, so i thought there would be no issues if something went wrong, and man was i wrong, a couple of weeks ago it went bust, last week i landed up in Rashi Peripherals service centre in Delhi with the mobo and the bill and the box which clearly stated that it has been imported by Rashi, but to my horror they told me that i need to get an approval from the local branch of Rashi Peripherals without which they would not accept the Mobo. According to them getting the approval is not a problem at all, all that i have to do is go to their branch with the original bill and tell them what has happened to my mobo and they will send an approval mail to the delhi branch, simple. Man my friend has moved, and i dont know how to get the approval. 14000 Rs going down the drain.

Next day I receive one call and they asked me to please bring the board they are ready to accept the board for service !!!

hmmmm....worth a try, but who should i address to? do you think the manager of Rashi Peripherals would accept the courier, will he not just through away the letter? I dont even know the name of the manager of Rashi Peripherals, if i address the courier to THE MANAGER, will it help?

Thanks SharekhaN.
Prime gave me a call today saying that they have sent the mobo back for repairs and generously offered me a replacement board till it was fixed. However I refused since i'm off to Europe for a couple of weeks on Monday.

btw can anyone give me any pointers to any tech gadgets I can lay my hands on in Europe? I'll be in Austria for a week and then another week in Italy.

Some people said the dealer matters. Can you please tell some good dealers in mumbai? Is PRIME a good choice? I am buying my new pc in a couple of days.

I had a worse experience, had a Asus k8v got spoilt the assoles replaced it ( after a gap of 4 mths) with a k8v-mx and even thats spoilt now.
I had enough with bullshit Asus quality and support service, even HIS or crappy brands like Mercury never gave me so many issues.
Future strategy from now buy a cheap mobo from states 80$ or so, if it gets spoilt throw it away.. much better then buying a 6-7k mobo here and then all this b$ happens...
Right said Friend- the 'old fox' always told me this!! ;)
Now i know he was so right- i am tracing that path now.:ohyeah:

Prime ABGB at lamington road and Mnemonic systems at Borivali.:thumb:

I get stuff for me and whole rigs for frnds from them- a little pricier but totally worth it.

But be aware of present prices and bargain- that's a customer's birthright.

They handle the rma part if need be.:)

Touchwood- meesa didn't need any rma- else it would have been a nightmare for me.

Once when i did need for a frnd- it was another dealer from Lammy- Active infocomm- and they backed out on the warranty for the RAM.:@
Sold Kingston RAM with 3yrs warranty at high price and later when the RAM stick dies, they claimed it was sold with only 1yr warranty.

To my bad luck, the RAM had died on the 10th day since a year was over.

Hence i only stick to Prime or Mnemonics- no issues with any RMA needed fro frnds and Mnemonics has even been gracious/courteous enough to provide own stuff as standby.:)
