Audio Portable amplifier for $8.5 shipped to your house

Basically hissing with sensitive cans, not really good, as most of the low impedance earplugs are also highly sensitive. But still capable of adding depth to the HD650 means its respectable. At 9$ or even 15$ its a superb deal.

Now who's ready to start a GO??

And thanks for the link. What a superb little site! Repped.

^^ If you buy 3 units at a time you get it for just $7.7 !!!

I wonder how this will sound with the EP-630. They were not that easy to drive.

jaben is having a competition for a fiio amp right now so its gotta be good

noobq: how will the sound change if i use it with xbi?

looks good for that price..

AMP for EP-630. WTH are you guys talking about???

I though that EP-630 were very easy to drive. Even my PSP

can power it quite loud (PSP doesn't drive HD555 though!)

Count me in for 2 of these if it can drive Grado-SR60 :)

thx!

you wont be saving too much by making a GO for this...

ebay has it listed for 1 british cent + shipping(which is like 6-7 pounds..) just order from dealextreme directly.. 8usd is an awesome price.

Do you honestly think driving is about volume levels? And who's talking about using the EP630 with the PSP? I'm talking a small portable amp with my Touch - now thats a source worthy of amping, although I do have a LD micro tube and LD MK V also on order :)

I don't recommend this for a PC, there seems to be a lot of floor noise.

^^^EP630 has muddy, single tone bass, and unfocussed, undetailed high end - any they aren't hard to drive at all. Proper amping does little or nothing to the sound.
^^I'm in for two of these.

>> now thats a source worthy of amping.

Hmmm ... any sources for audio quality on PSP OR are you just mindlessly

bashing something which you don't know about :p

Apple Touch? .... So *LAME* don't you think ... Get Cowon naah :p

That is what I was was trying to say. Amping a EP-630 isn't required and

doesn't do any good.

>> EP630 has muddy, single tone bass, and unfocused, undetailed high end

Yeah right but at that price point nothing else can provide so much noise

isolation which is the most imp. thing when you are traveling.

I review games on a PSP from time to time, and I have friends who own the gadget, so I assure you I'm not blindly bashing ;) Never wanted it at 12K and not at 7K now.

Get Cowon? The D2 is superb, agreed, I've tested it but are you into sound so much that you called the SQ of the Apple Touch lame? Shows how much you know...which isn't much sorry to say. Apple and Cowon are neck and neck AFA as SQ goes, and according to me the Touch has a fully involving high end which isn't rounded off as on the D2. I did an indepth test with my A900s, and sponsored HD650s and RS2s. I suggest you verify things yourself before posting stupidly.

If you're talking functionality, I love the touch thing as do millions. It doesn't take a reviewer to appreciate what they've done with the human interface thingy. Cell phones and PDAs are trying the same thing? To you it may be lame, but you're part of a minority, and an insignificant one at that IMO.

Besides you should be the last to talk about audio quality if your idea of nirvana is the SR60 :p

But this is OT. The EP630 is easy to drive, I agree, and I understand the pricing issue which is why I own 2 of these. But they don't even approach the outer boundaries of audiophile sound. They're just VFM, with decent isolation, and they do the job for travelling. I use them too, great for rough use, since they're only 700 bucks.

0) And I never claimed that EP-630/SR60 is audiophile stuff.

1) Well I am not an audiophile :p. You are right about that part. :)

The point of mentioning SR60 is that if this AMP can drive it, then

the AMP is *at least* buyable for those having shoe string budget.

SR60 kinda sets a benchmark on lower end.

2) See everyone knows about AK701, DT880 Pro, HD650 and other top end stuff with stax amps ... blah blah ... But most don't have that much budget.

This thread applies to those kinda people :p

Also I guess that double cost doesn't mean double sound goodness???

(you should be able to clarify this for me)

Who would use this AMP to drive HD650 permanently (for testing its OK) :p

>> Apple Touch lame

heh .. it was a flame bait. I am sure it has good SQ and interface.

But because of limited functionality and *stupid* pricing doesn't make

any sense.

>> I love the touch thing as do millions.

What about the other billions :p
