Other Porting from Airtel Prepaid to Vodafone Prepaid. How to ?

My brother uses Airtel prepaid connection in Mumbai. But the place where he works is on 40th Floor and he gets bad reception of Airtel there. But he says that Vodafone has pretty good reception. So he wants to port his number to vodafone Mumbai.
What is the process to follow ?
Also the Vodafone gallery person told him that he has to first take postpaid and then only porting will happen. Then he can get converted to prepaid later. But I feel vodafone guys are bluffing and there is no such thing.
 
They are going to milk their opportunity, Postpaid hell no...! Even if that is the only way out, you cannot convert the number to prepaid once ported to Vodafone postpaid for a 90 days period, after which you can do so.. Again they will play the retention card! Be ready to attend phone calls after call!

Yes my brother was also told to wait 3 Months for conversion to prepaid after being on postpaid.
 
Go to airtel gallery . Tell them you want to port your Vodafone prepaid to them . They will take your current phone , send a port out SMS . Enter the serial number you get as a reply , to the new airtel prepaid form . Then take your photos and documents , give you the new Sim . Within a week the new number will activate .

Opposite to that. Need to port from airtel to vodafone.

Substitute airtel with vodafone. Simple. Does not happen? Goto another Vodafone CC.
 
You just need to walk in to a Vodafone store and with a photo and the same address proof submitted to the previous provider.
They will give you a MNP form, fill in and submit it! Its really not necessary to take postpaid connection for MNP, if they do it so, its deliberate!

Send a SMS from the number you want to port in the following format
PORT 9********** to 1900

you will the receive a unique porting code which is validity period

Now goto the Vodafone store and fill in the details from the SMS you get with mobile number, operator name and UPC code!
