Wonder how he's still able to and logged in today...
 
This is new. The seller for sure is a frequent lurker of TE. They could have created a new account but instead used an existing account.
Biggest question is how they got old account's password ?

For now all old accounts with more than 6-10 months of inactivity should be immediately blocked.

Also the case should be approached legally at the earliest and recipient's bank + Mobile service provider + ISP should be informed .
 
as far i remember there is a one time login code sent on each few days. first time logging on different device means he have access to email account?

I think so. He changed password probably by resetting it as he didn't know TE password. I wonder why google gave an easy access to his mail though when sometimes I almost got locked out of my own account.
 
i don't think there is different person, a hacker if had access to gmail, could have changed the password.

Like he hacked the specific techenclave linked email account and then posted the thread? it must be someone who is familiar with the system.
 
I guess this is why he was adamant on using paypal for crypto transactions.

whats weird is..that paypal doesn't let you keep any balance in India.. and he said he wanted to use the paypal balance.. which in itself is a red flag. paypal transactions can be easily disputed after ur paid and since there is no way to reverse a crypto transaction you would have been out of both crypto and money.

He also said in the wtb thread that he would pay first which is another red flag in itself, i warned my friend about the same and we decided to not pursue thinking it was too risky.

Please don't ignore the red flags guys, too good to be true is almost always a scam.

When I saw this post, this guy had posted it for 15k. 10 minutes later I check the thread again, and it's at 11k now. I thought to myself, wow that's a good deal! Thank god I didn't pursue it now that I think about it

Make 2Fa mandatory for market permissions perhaps.
I dont see any other option, this now reduces credibility of feedback otherwise because you cant control security of the other guy.

Yes. This is scarier because creates doubt over og users also.
 
Did both of them got money back or lost it? I think the scammer might have gotten hold of the account through TE WhatsApp group. Looks like it though but cant say how exactly.
