Rahul seriously. What setting you are using in the game?
The thing you have inside the PC is 7800GTX. Why would you buy that and not crank up AA and AF?

i don't know wat are u talking about all setting are on max including AA and AF ......

Then there is seriously something screwed with drivers.
The AA is not working in HL2 screenies you posted at all. And it looks like only 2X AA is working at the best in FC.
I will post the screenies of both the games but with 4XAA you should not get any jagged edges.

i am using the 78.03 drivers ...... any idea wat is the problem ...?? sud i change the driver if yes which one ???

can u point out where u find the jagged edges ??

try an older driver...most of the new ones seem to be "optimising"...i suggest 77.76

p.s: jagged edges are evident on the weapon

Look at the gun in ur hand and u can see the jagged edges on the gun's outlines. Have u kept the AA from the in-game Video ---> Advanced setting to the max. allowed ? If not do it ASAP.

As for the drivers, r u using WHQL ones from Nvidia ? If so, throw them into the bin and start using modded ones. Xtreme-G drivers r good. Get them here

Am using the XG 77.50. It is very good.

See that red circles. The edge lines should not be like that with AA working.
It should appear straight line.
Look at the CSS screenies i opsted below your HL2 pics. Thats only 4XAA. I am 100% sure you should be able to use 8XAA which will look better than that.
Also set Nvidia control pannel AA and AF to application control and set the aa to 8X and AF to 16X Anisotropic.
Try using 77.77. First completely remove current drivers with driver cleaner after uninstalling.

thanks funky for pointing out ....... i will chk wat is the problem ...

i can't chk the HL2 as i got it from mine fren just for chking its a crap version ..... anyways i think farcry is running better .....actually i was kept them as application controlled in the global driver setting .... now i see that there is individual profiles for them so i think i have to change the setting from there .... anyways i am using 78.03 beta drivers .....

If you can't see any problem without someone enlarging a screenshot for you, then seriously don't bother spoiling yourself.
Nowadays when I game, I spend more time appreciating how smooth stuff looks rather than actually playing the damn thing.

He has 7800GTX. Its crime not to spoil yourself when you have that card. Period

By the way rahul. FC has less aliasing to begin with. yours seems to be using 2XAA only and very low AF.

you can force the FC setting from control pannel by using profile.

Set it to 4XAA and 16XAF. Should be smooth as butter.

thanks for suggestion ..... i was having problem with HL2 neglected it coz i thought i will first get the game then i will try ..... anyways farcry i think was ok .....

@funky AF is x4 in farcry that is max in the game ..... and AA is on low because every time i set it to high it reverts back to low automatically ..... after some fight with settings i found that is was because i was using 1024x728 .... i made the resolution to 1280x960 and now max AA is medium so i think i need a better resolution to support high AA ..... anyways i will try to force them .... i tried HL2 again same problem ... i think first i willl get a original copy of it ...

BTW i am runnign the netgraph command so you get an idea about FPS on my system which is SD3700+@2.7 and 6600GT @ stock speed, 4XAA, 16XAF.

The game doesn't seem to be taking too much of an hit with HDR enabled.

well it is taking some descent hit with HDR.

Somthing like 25-30FPS hit. Still smooth and playable though.

Here are the two shots with and without HDR.

They dont look too different bcoz the HDR is very dynamic in this game.

When you move from light area to brighter your eyes take some time to adjust, thats when HDR gives this shiny effect and as time passes it settles to more like normal light. So it feels real and nice.

BTW there isent too much water in this game. Actiually only this map where you spawn has this sea. I have played 3 maps and none other had water.
