Some original COD1 for you guys.
Im playing the game on the easiest setting though, because after playing halo for over a month at highest difficulty I feel drained.
BTW, that sargent's advice in the first 2 SS should apply to you guys playing COD4 too.

Game's rock solid with the 1.5.0.5 patch.. No crashes, corrupt save games etc.. Anyone who liked the first Stalker but was holding out on this one because of all the reported bugs, get your copy ASAP!

Tried playing COD2 yesterday, but at max settings it gave me 8fps, and when I reduced everything to bare minimum I still barely get 20fps.
Any thoughts?
Do you guys think the e6550 cd2 cpu is a low end cpy and 667Mhz ram wont be enough for latest games?
I can always upgrade my graphics card, but I really dont want to upgrade my ram and cpu anytime in the next 4 years.

I am pretty sure your card is not the problem. I have the exact same card along with C2D E4600 and 3GB RAM n a cheapo ASRock mobo. I am yet to encounter a game which doesn't run on it. I even enjoyed Crysis on it. I usually play at 800X600 resolution and all other settings to medium. And in case of Source games, I can play on full settings. If COD4 and COD 5 run extremely well on this card, why wouldn't COD2?dsarosh said:

I think your right about the card. Its a 500Mhz core and 667Mhz ram clock, which I think is pretty similar to the 8600GT, but it probably has fewer shaders.

Funny how Microsoft's top selling games seem to have compatibility issues with Microsoft's latest OS. At least they have been kind to other game makers.
Maybe ill try COD Modern Warfare and see how it goes.
What are source games, btw? And what are your plans for upgrading your card?

I think your right about the card. Its a 500Mhz core and 667Mhz ram clock, which I think is pretty similar to the 8600GT, but it probably has fewer shaders.

@dSarosh: Source games are the games based on Source engine. The ones released by Valve like CSS, TF2, etc.. I will upgrade only when I encounter a game which I really want to play but cant enjoy because of my graphic card. But currently I am only into Multi-players like Insurgency or TF2, I don't need to upgrade. Maybe in July 2009 I will. BTW, I think your Operating System is the culprit w.r.t. the COD2 problem.

Thankfully Quake4 is playable despite that warning.
The game runs at full screen with my monitor resolution of 1400x900, but fraps takes the SS in a different resolution. Both COD1 and quake 2 do not look like this on my monitor, they look normal wide screen.
Trying to play the game at the highest difficulty, and I reached the part where I got to escort the medic back to the group. But there is that one alien with the steel hand who I cant get past.

There must be some way to deal with this guy with the iron arm in the below 4 SS. If anyone whose played this game can look at these below SS and give me some hints about how to take down this guy. Maybe there is some trick to shoot his hand when he sticks it in the ground or something. This guy killed me about 50 times in 15 mins, but I made it anyway.
