I wonder what you use your system for

Still the same compilation problem..
It says "can't find libtext-dev".. I'm running Ubuntu 64-bit..

did you install
PHP:
sudo apt-get install libxext-dev
???
if so then do "make clear" and try again !!
and did you install all the lib files?
PHP:
libxext-dev
mesa-dev
libsdl-ttf2.0-dev
libgl1-mesa-dev

Yeah I did.. same error.. here's the output :-

PHP:
hellknight@UX-64:~$ sudo apt-get install libtext-dev mesa-dev libsdl-ttf2.0-dev libgl1-mesa-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package libtext-dev
hellknight@UX-64:~$

And if you eliminate libtext-dev from the above command then :-

PHP:
hellknight@UX-64:~$ sudo apt-get install mesa-dev libsdl-ttf2.0-dev libgl1-mesa-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package mesa-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package mesa-dev has no installation candidate

extremely sorry :ashamed: !!
it is
Code:
sudo apt-get install libxext-dev
and as for the mesa-dev it is acutally now changed to
mesa-common-dev
and also try
libgl1-mesa-dev

Fascinating. This compiled cleanly once I installed xorg-dev (for Xlib) and nvidia-glx-180-dev (for GL). However, running it on my XPS M1330 caused the computer to shut down (cleanly) during the eighth iteration of the first benchmark (dhry2reg). Interestingly, the CPU was at 55 °C when I started the computer again.

@ Yondaime

I tried to install the libraries as you said.. Ubuntu says, all of them are installed.. but when I tried to compile the package.. I got the following error :-

I tried to install the libraries as you said.. Ubuntu says, all of them are installed.. but when I tried to compile the package.. I got the following error :-

the error says the script cannot find libGL.so in /usr/lib/ .

Check if you have libGL.so already there:

Code:
ls -l /usr/lib/ |grep GL

^If the Output have libGL.so.1 then symlink it to libGL.so

Code:
sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 /usr/lib/libGL.so

If you have NVIDIA driver installed ,

Code:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libGL.so.195.xx.xx.xx /usr/lib/libGL.so

Similary ,libxext may also need symlinking:

Code:
ls -l /usr/lib |grep Xext

^Go through the output and Symbolically Link(Symlink) Accordingly.

Code:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libXext.so.6 /usr/lib/libXext.so

Then Try!

Goodluck!

Creating symbolic links worked.. will post the results as soon as the benchmark is over..

Damn it.. it aborted itself after 1 hour when it couldn't find GLX gears RGB something like that..

I m getting following error what shall i do.
Code:
Checking distribution of files
./pgms exists
./src exists
./testdir exists
./tmp exists
./results exists
gcc -o ./pgms/arithoh -DTIME -Wall -pedantic -ansi -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fforce-addr -ffast-math -Wall -Darithoh ./src/arith.c
make: gcc: Command not found
make: *** [pgms/arithoh] Error 127

also when checked i found whenever i issue gcc command it says -bash: gcc: command not found

got following errors.
