Just got my Galaxy Note 2, i know that this does have a 3100 mAh battery and supposedly longer battery back up- but i do sometimes travel far from light points and chargers for 2-3 days and need to decide between
1. A power Bank to carry with me - Should be capable of providing at least One full charge to the Note 2.
if yes- please do suggest a good reliable one- because the multiplicity of brands and capacities is very confusing..

2. Extra battery -fully charged to be carried - saw a good item on ebay..

at 1899 this has an original Samsung battery included & is not more expensive than the battery alone which is 1.6k[DOUBLEPOST=1374910758][/DOUBLEPOST]cmmon guys..need to decide soon..i have to have considered advice in this matter..because of a upcoming 3 day hike i have to undertake.
Please put in ure opinions...

IMO buy a power bank, they will be helful in longer runs and provide more compatibility.
I dont have used any power bank but I am also looking to buy one.
Ambrane P801 looks good... it will provide most probably atleast 2 full charge and will cost around 1299 or less if u look out for discount coupons and infibeam deals

I too have never used a power bank before and want to know something about these and am looking for inputs from fellow members about the power banks- which seem to be ranging in price from 400 to 4000....but i presume investing in a good one will have to be at a good price.. any body seen any reviews ? guidance needed urgently.[DOUBLEPOST=1374993594][/DOUBLEPOST]

I had bought from US when i was there. It is from New Trent company. Works well. I suggest new trent or anker brand ones. I am not sure how those local brand ones comes but i have my suspicions.

Power bank is for unibody style phones or ones where the user cannot replace the battery. People with unibody phones have no option but to use power banks.

Spare batteries are much faster, need a fresh one ? pop the cover off, stick it in, done. No waiting for it to recharge etc.

You can address the problem instead of merely treating symptoms if you use greenify, requires root though. Make the Note 2 last even longer than it already admirably does.

Bear in mind you just recently got your Note 2, battery life initially will not be great but will improve after the battery gets conditioned. Give it a couple of weeks more before considering extra batteries.

Need to ensure its not fake. To do that you have to learn what a *genuine* battery is supposed to look like & how it behaves. Unless the seller is known i'd be sceptical of ebay.

That is indeed true but the whole exercise can be a royal pain if you use a TPU or any other type of case on your phone. A power bank is much simpler in that case.
Also, how does one charge the spare battery? By swapping it again on the phone?

Well, the kind of case matters here. A good case will be easier to take off than a cheaper one.

Yes, you charge the battery like that or get a spare charger which can be pricey but is more convenient. Only makes sense if its for regular heavy use. To have a backup ready in an emergency.

Otherwise the difference is moot, unibody or not.
