Laptops Power mode on netbook when battery if full

So, as the title says, should i use my netbook my power mode when its 100% charged?? Or should i run it on battery, get it drained, charge again and then use?? Some of my friends says that using laptop on power mode when u have battery simply degrades the battery by overcharging..so i am confused..
 
charge fully and discharge 95 percent in battery mode, this will give good life to battery, never run the laptop in ac mode after fully charged, this will degrade the battery life
