w'd love to have some Review over the powersafe line of PSU's from u guyz pls

Among the Indian made ones, Powersafe are considered to be of decent quality. Though Sunny may have something to say against that :bleh:

I got my Powersafe 400W for around 1.4K. Try bargaining for a better price ? :)

If you're bold enough, you can try modding your PSU like Sunny :p

EDIT: Merged your other thread

What's Sunny got against Powersafe? :)

How did you manage that. Can you give me the contact of that dealer in delhi.

BTW just went thru the Colorsit website. Based in China. Seems pretty decent. It's not sold much in India i guess. Googled and got some results with people having this PSu in their rig abroad.

At 450W for 1200 INR it seems a bargain.

And plus it's got 12V 19A that should be very good for Prescotts.

Read somewhere that 18A on 12V rail for a prescott of 3.0Ghz works well.

The only thing is that cheap PSU are generally crap. Hope this one is not.

Sunny had a bad experience with Powersafe. His inverter(for his CCFLs) blew because there was excess current.....

LMAO!!! that was with Zebby 350W :p 12V touched 13.9V, inverter literally exploded...

Complaints againt Powersafe

1. Fkin noisy 2 fans

2. 500W, real wattage only 422W

3. i got 12.9V on 12V line while ocing..verrry baaad for a 500W PSU

4. Shitty sticker placement....i've been given green signal to mod thios and still retain my warranty..hehehe..only if this sticer is moved some place else....placed sticker ontop of one of the screws...aargh..cant remove it too :p

5. There is a temperature fan control thingy...doubt it works...

6. Made by L&C...maybe the next best to Antec in India, but one of the worsts in the world.....

7. A zebby 400W modded comes close to matiching this PSUs performance..at only 25% of this's cost....

8. 8 molex :S toooo many connectors...4 or 6 wud be enuf.....

Merits :

1. Everything inside is neat and heatshrinked...lol...

BTW about ColorsIT...even tho tha 450W has 12V 19A, i doubt it. First, acc. to undertaker, it reaches 13V on 12V line when oced to 2500+ My CPU is at 2500+, my modded zebby wont cross 12.56V...even stock zebby didnt cross 12.8V, it has just 17A on 12V line....hmmm.....

EDIT : Look how messy it looks even with all wires sleeved....

It will be best if you upgrade to 400W SMPS.
I have a very good iBall 400W SMPS 20/24PIN with 17A in +12V rail for just 650/-. It is as good as Antech/PowerSafe SMPS, garentee. It comes with 2yr warranty. I want to sell it as I want a SLi supported SMPS.
