Okk i will be buying my new desktop in a few days and want to get everything right so that i dont have to change for another 4 years..
I am a casual gamer and need the computer for mainly programming and some casual internet browsing. However i need something fast.

So was thinking about a quadcore

AMD Athlon II X4 620
Biostar TA 790GX / Gigabyte MA
4GB DDR2/2GB DDR3(or 4 gb of ddr3 if prices are nearly the same)
Corsair 450W PSU
Some good chassis
A decent card to play the games
1TB HDD /500GB HDD

Please suggest prices and your opinion.

Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 550 - 5.2k or Athlon II X4 620 - 5.3k

Mobo : Gigabyte 785GMT-UD2H - 5.9k

RAM: Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz - 2.6k / Transcend 2x2GB DDR3 1333MHz - 5.2k

GPU: Palit/Powercolor 5770 512mb - 11k (DX 11 futureproof )

HDD: Seagate 500GB SATAII 7200.12 series- 2.4k

Cabinet: CM Elite 310 - 1.5k

SMPS: Gigabyte Superb 460W - 2.2k

Total - 33k

I suggested ATI 5770 since you were a casual gamer and you wanted to get everything right so that you dont have to change for another 4 years

I was looking forward to an NVIDIA card like the GTX 260 cause it is the same price and has a higher bandwidth compared to the 5770. Plus it has physx support for future games.

Since You are a casual gamer You should buy a dx11 card so that you can enjoy future dx11 titles since you are not upgrading for another 4 years. Nvidia Dx11 cards have not launched and not likely to launch for another 2-3months. So the bet for now is hd5770 with dx11.

You are a casual gamer and since you wont upgrade till 4 years ATI 5770 DX 11 will be futureproof.

Nvidia is likely going to launch their DX11 on January 25 or April 26 or may get delayed even further.
