Completely agree Ricky but probably it is about time we move on with a newer (and probably better?) protagonist? When I was playing Red Faction, I was constantly reminded about Prey.

Rhinehart further touched upon the game’s setting of Exodus, where the planet has one side facing the sun, one facing away from it and somewhere in-between, enabling hot, cold and middle-ground areas.

“The reason we do that is to offer variety, breaking up where the player goes but it’s not a case of being here, then here, then here; the narrative weaves through all those levels,” he said.

“So I go to the bright side and then I’ll come back to the Bowery, based on the narrative. But just because you leave the Bowery, that doesn’t mean you can’t come back to the Bowery at any point. It’s not a case of leaving an area and then being locked out of it. If you want to go back and explore, you can totally do that as well.”

According to PS Focus, a “reliable source†has said the Human Head Studios title has been cancelled, which explains the lack of new information on the game since it was announced, as well as three planned conferences which were also cancelled over last few months.​

A sigh of relief!

Development of Prey 2 has not been cancelled but the game will not be released in 2012 as planned. The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards. Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans. We have made a substantial investment in game development to deliver the experience fans want. We are determined only to release the AAA game that fans rightfully expect, and are unwilling to compromise our quality standards to meet a release schedule.

Prey 2 has not been axed, according to Bethesda’s European marketing boss, Pete Hines, citing translation errors as the source of erroneous reports.“To clarify, I didn’t say Prey 2 was canx. Gave an interview in English, translated to Dutch, translated back to English,” Hines tweeted.

Will this be more like diablo or stalker ... former was a bit let down after the wait and the latter unexpected awesomeness.
 
^^From the videos it looks like free running + elemental powers + gun gameplay. I wonder how many games have gone to open world and RPG element now.
