PC Peripherals price suggestions..

Guys my brother in Mumbai is buying a new pc, and I am trying to help him as much as I can from over here..:P

I had mailed mnemonic, prime and mahavir electronics for price quotes for the rig I had in mind. Yesterday Anish from Mnemonic mailed me back and offered the following prices..

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 = 4950/-
Asus P5N-E sli = 7450/-
2*1gb Kingston Value ram - 667 mhz = 1950/-(sure he meant for each stick :O)
hitachi/Seagate 160 gb sata2 hdd with 8mb buffer = 2350/-
Cooler Master Extreme power 600 w psu = 3750/-
Chieftec BH-02-B-B-B cabinet = 3750/-
LG H42N dvd-rw = we have H44 N = 1500/-

Besides this, I had asked him for the prices of Samsung 740N and Palit 1950gt/pro and he said that the prices will be available tomorrow.

So what do you think of these prices? are they ok or off the mark? and if they are..what should be the good prices?:huh:

Well when the final purchase would be made, of course there would be some burgainig, but I would like to know how much to burgain..:)

Also, do you think there is any sub 9k good 17" lcd that has dvi input? i know this one doesnt..but I dont know what is available at Mumbai.

I also had AMD in mind..but only if I found the Biostar motherboard. Can anyone tell me where it is available?

And lastly..his budget is max 45k.

dude, if possible spend 2k more and get 19" WS from viewsonic like VA1912wb-3 or VG1930WM.

The rest of the prices seems to be decent :)

and no need to think of AMD :P, get the intel c2d e4300 itself.
 
Biostar boards are available with Abacus Peripherals - Mumbai.

I bought mine few days back for 4750/- (TA690G)

Yes, but some catch is there, else there price is EQUAL to Lemington Road.

One of my friend's experience with them is like "Liya Diya Bhul Jaoo" :(

Nilesh from Apex at Lemington Road is Decent guy with any time ready for help, I just buy once (via-via) from him so don't know personally but he always reply to my Mail for ANY enquiry.:)

@Saiyan: thanx for the suggestion. personally, I would have taken the VG1930WM, but my bro says he doesnt need 19", and would rather spend the saved money in something else..:(

well for the gfx card, we have a budget of 8-9k in mind, and mnemonic has quoted a price of 13100 for the 256 mb version of 1950pro(gecube)..i read somewhere in this forum that it is available for 9k, brand not sure. can someone confirm.

else what do u suggest i go for? i had a 1950gt in mind..

also, is there any particular reason i shld go for dx10 other than just dx10 compatibility?

prime and mahavir has not mailed yet..:(

Logitech combo desktop - 750

Creative 5300 5.1 - 3600 ( I had told him to take ATP3, but he wants dolby:bleh: ..)

total came to around 47k

so..what do you think of it?

i think except the psu everything else came at nice prices.

i also heard that prime was absolutely no-no to burgaining..:@
