I specifically went to lammy after ard 2-3 yrs for seeing whether Te really keep us updated or window shopping is best...

Here are the rates of wd 1.5tb inorder i visited

1:: Prime abgb ::5450

2:: Shree:: Do not keep wd

3:: Plug n Play::5550

4:: Computer selection:: 5550 (after a long time i visited the shop..the owner has changed the direction of his working...may b vaastu type....Was one of my trusted shop untill he forced an asus product on me which hardly worked a week and refused to help in RMA )

5::Cassette world: 6k...and 5.8k(for some model which he was enquiring on intercom but i refused to stay at the place b4 he entertains me more)Right from my first visit to lammy i hate this shop from my bottom of my heart....Comp selection is just shop next door and 400 buks difference...

6:: E lounge:: Shop was closed ....rahul on his page mentioned 5.6k....and on ebay 6.1k...with someones help and applying15% coupon i guess i can get it for ard 5.2k..will need to check that

7:: Pc guide::4850.....yup even i was astonished :S ...From wherever i buy Pc guide price is always 100-150 buks more...so i said if u stand true to the price..ill buy 2...but u shdnt turn your bak....he promised...i said okk 1st bring 1 disk ill buy on the spot.....After waiting for 10 mins(sorry wasting my time for 10 mins)...he says...Sorry sir the person on other end heard as 1tb....and gave that price......for 1.5tb its 5.6k.....and turned his bak to me as he was sure i wont buy...or may be I will ask kya hua tera vaada....

In short Te is the best place to buy stuffs...just goto shops too see how the product runs in case of lcd..or to see how much fool they make of people...

One shop when a customer bargained for price..couner guys said...core 2 duo sa pentium dual core 2k cheaper hain get that....i was :( for the customer..that was holy s$it bargain

Anyways will get from ebay 1.5tb i guess....And prime still cheaper than roadside shop....so ppl should check gaali-kopcha wala shops than main road one
 
^ very true. same happened to me once in PC guide. i got quote of around 1k less, then he says someone made mistake after i waited for 15 mins. :mad:

all in all, most of deals here by TE dealers is good compared to going to lamington and getting a headache.
 
Can someone please tell me a few good laptop dealers on lamington road??

I hope it is worth a try.Or should i just stick to online purchases and estores like croma???

Particularly looking for Dell,Sony and HP.

^^Go to Lammy And search man i bought HP Pavillion DV5-1015TX for 61750 a year ago and croma had the same lappy for 65.5K :) so i think try HP dealers you can find them on there website... i found my dealer from HP website :D i dont remem the name cause i dont have the bill gave the lappy to my Bro :D

remember only two names mccann , shree semiconductors
prices were more or less similar
i think seagate prices have increased it was 3.9k few weeks ago

BTW is shree semiconductors the same shop which is mentioned as shree in TE forums

are you sure it was Gigabyte G41 and not G31.
