Boy the prices in india are sure a rip-off.
X2 3800+ is available at newegg for $149!! That comes somewhere arnd Rs6800.
The prices in india shud be somewhere arnd 7.5k to be a good deal.

Way incorrect. Surprisingly that price was quoted by some AMD guys... They'd quoted the same price to me while we were testing it. I phoned them to make sure, they said its correct. I said its like 600 US now, so can u send me 10 processors? Then they said we'll get back to you. Its around 23~24K I believe. note sure though

I spent my whole long saturday looking for x2 3800+ in Nehru Place. even Computer Empire and SMC were out of stock.

Then I was told there was a single piece left .... and it would cost me 10.5k. I returned empty hands

But new stock coming on tuesday(source: Computer Empire). and price will be dropped by about rs 500 as Intel has done the same thing in latest stock that landed there

I called SMC Delhi today. And they said, x2 3800+ in 939 won't be available anymore!!!! Only AM2!!!

I have tried enquiring some distributors and found the lowest price it can be found is some 9k...but even that'll be very rare. Im talking about Mumbai pricing here and for the socket AM2 one!!

Yes...I would second that.... by my experience of past 4-5 yrs thats the way it happens... The prices go down a little during this time...
