@Techhead: I'm going to Lammy tomm, although I haven't decided yet about picking up the HDD. What time you're going to lammy?

i guess there will be a shortage of the 640 gigger coming up soon , because no one is gonna buy the 500 gigger....so most probably all the 640gigs will get sold and then only the 500 giggers will be available until that stock clears up a bit...ofcourse the 500 gigger will cost way cheaper......

80/160 giggers are now mere toys :(......

I was around Lammy today noon for client meeting, and just went around checking for prices for my friend. Finally bit the bullet and bought WD640 from Prime. :)

I tried bit haggling with Swapnil, but he didn't reduce the cost any further. :P..

Hi ,

No Offense To anyone ,People who Like To Buy From Prime Can ,when i Have the Pricing And I Have The Stock ,Can'nt We Close The discussion Here ,Again No Offense ,And Keep Telling Me If The Rate Falls Down In Some Market ,I Need a Bill Prove i will keep the rates jacked down for you guys atleast in WDC

Paaji the purpose of this thread is NOT to prove to you that x y & z dealers are giving it for **** rates and asking you to get better rates.

getting better rates is your own decision. the purpose of this thread is to inform other users who might want to get the hdd's locally about where to get the best deal.

Come On Yaar ,
I Know That Its Easier To Shoop Online Then Offline In The Heat Whats The Temps In Bombay Anyways

there is no heat in mumbai... been raining for the past coupla months.

the indian customer still cares about saving that extra 50 bucks amarbirji :D

^^ For HDD's with WDC rma procedure yes its easier to shop online, but for other stuff I would prefer a local dealer whom I can go back to incase something goes wrong. The RMA policy for most of the comp hardware parts yet suck in India...

plus not everyone has a credit card.. some still prefer cash on delivery or just going out and getting their stuff the same day. all depends on the end user.

If WD hdd picked up from local dealer is DOA or acting funny, do we get over-the-counter replacement from the dealer if reported same day or next day or have to go through rma procedure? :S

If bought online and DOA or acting funny due to some bad handling while shipping, rma will be faster/easier i guess- especially if bought from a different city. :)
