I have an Athlon64 939 3800+ (san diego core). I'm not looking to overclock by a large margin. Any recommendations on which heatsink I should pick up? Gulbir recommended the XP-90.

Eazy please show me the HR03 Plus & HR05 SLI installed :)

Got a "jhatka" and mounted the TR HR-03 PLUS on the 8800 GTS .... not a easy job the adhesive on the ram sinks SUX - I had read about this problem with the adhesive so in anticipation of this I had also today bought from Prime an Artic Silver Adhesive - I had a real tough time removing the adhesive tape from each of the ram heat sinks .... :@ :@ ... now I have to wait for AS Adhesive to set before I can use it .... mean while a picture of TR HS without a fan on my NAKED 8800 GTs.....

Zhopudey has a SI-120 with CM UV blue 120mm fan for sale- and quite cheap.:ohyeah:
Handles Dual core 939 with ease.:thumb:
Much better buy than an XP90 at 1.6k plus a 92mm fan extra- especially if you happend to plonk in a dual core 939 for cheap someday.:P

I saw the AM2 mount for the SI-120 HS at Prime today. I know Zhops was looking for that.

Tussi chhaa gaye ho papaji- south Mumbai is 'much cooler' today.

Thanks for the map, Eazy! Going out of your way to ensure that I remain as lazy as ever!! Hehehe...

@nVidiabeast: Thanks for the offer. I'll remember that if I come to Bombay and get lost!

Anyone from Pune planning to get one of these?? We could probably work something out so that all of us don't end up going there individually for our heatsinks!

Then dont come to Mumbai... let the heatsink come to you ..... let Prime courier you the Heatsink ... Gulbir mentioned that they will accept payment to their ICICI bank a/c ... talk to Gulbir and check how this can be done....

The HR05 SLI will be installed the next time I take out the MoBo .... too much work just to install this cooler.

Here is a picture of the HR03 PLUS in the case... and a picture showing the temp of the 8800 GTS at 49C ... this was 63C with the stock cooler .... 14C drop in temp ... NOT BAD... :ohyeah:

The TR HR03 PLUS and the 8800GTS take up 5 slots !!! :O It does not show but there is about 1" space between the GFX cards fan and the sound card.:)

hmmm, are the memory slots coming into picture if you install HR03 the opposite way?

I mean around the card going up instead of face down.

EDIT: i guess fan wont fit due to ultra 120

Damn, Id rather sit with the Stock Cooler. Lol.

Wouldnt it be better to install the HR03 the other way around??

Great going Eazy ... the temps look great :hap2: too bad you have to sacrifice all those pci slots for it :(

At first I did try installing the heat sink and fan on the back of the GFX card but it was hitting the Ultra 120 :( I too wanted to keep it that way but it was not possible.

@Udit - I have the 120mm fan attached to the HDD cage which is throwing air over the card from the front of the card and I have a 60mm fan outside the case which pulls out air from the case from just under the GFX card - this 60mm fan throws out very warm air. I am trying to put a 80mm fan in this place outside the case - I am sure the temp will drop with this larger fan.

@Funky - dont know about the ram  I did not check this - but the GFX cards fan was coming in the way of the Ultra 120 so that was the end of that idea :(

@Chaos/Aditya... That was my plan too - put the heat sink and fan above the card - no can do :( Adi - the stock cooler on load used to give me over 75C on load. :(

@thexfactor/bottle ... still have the bottom slot free :) but I dont have any other cards to install. Cards in the last slot make it a pain to reach the connectors and jumpers which I fiddle with often.

Today morning I had to redo ALL the RAM heatsinks with Artic Silver Adhesive instead of the stock double sided cello tape as the heat sinks were very loose and seemd to be on the verge of falling off onto the sound card. MAN believe me applying Artic Silver Adhesive is a PITA :@ you have to mix the 2 compunds and use within 3 MINUTES !!! First time I did it I said THWI and merrily kept applying the same mixed compound for about 45 minutes - man did I learn fast that this will not do - the ASA compund would not set even after 12 hours !! So today I mixed extremely small quantities at a time which was enough for one heat sink at a time and VOILA - half an hour later the ASA was set and my Warranty on my 8800GTS expired with this permanent MOD :ohyeah: now I will never be able to remove these Thermalright heat sinks from the ram on the GFX card.
