Chaos said:Don't worry eazy... even though the wire clips look flimsy, they do the job. I've been using TR heatsinks since SLK948 days and to date i've never had a TR fan clip fail on me.
Eazy said:... and I have been using TR heat sinks since the SK6 days.... loved THAT heat sink - still have it around... never had a problem with any of my TR clips ..... but the clips on the Ultra-120 really scared me as they seemed quite loose.
....But .... I just checked and found that they are loose only on the Vantec fan and NOT on the Panaflo or Papst - so I checked the thickness of the frame of the Vantec against the other 2 and it is about 25% thinner![]()
I now find that my GFX card temp has gone up 2 C with the turning of the Ultra 120 ... this HS is now throwing a bit of warm air onto the back of the 8800 card and heating it up a bit. I am not going to worry about this temp increase - I would rather have the Ultra-120 oriented front to back than turn it around for 2 C temp increase to the gfx card.
