^^ Um, since when is Over 75C on Load a problem with an 8800GTS? Lol..

Normal Load temperatures are around that and even higher :S.. Lol..

...but... BUT... now the GFX card load temp is down to the level of the idle temp with the stock cooler ... :ohyeah:

Today I picked up the AM2 bolt and the S Clip for the Ultra 120 and have now turned the heat sink around by 90 degrees like so on my A8N-E board....... this orientation is scaring me because if the heat sinks clip comes loose it is going to fall on the 8800 GTS GFX card :O

that wont be any problem. am using the u120 like that since quite sometime.

its much better than the previous temps i was getting.. around 15C drop in the temp :D

@Eazy.. ur pc is beast.. will that HS fit on my 6600GT AGP?

NO ... the Thermalright HR-03 PLUS heat sink is only for the 8800xxx series cards.

@stormblast ... what I am worried about is the clip falling down with the computer running when I have my grubby fingers insides the case - it is quite loose and could fall down on to the 8800 card even with a slight pressure. As a precaution I have bent them a bit so that they have more pressure on the fan. I HATE THESE TR CLIPS !!!:@

@Rivunited - In the picture - I have the Vantec Stealth fan attached to the HS and an Antec on the case - the Vantec Stealth runs at 1450 RPM 53 CFM slow and silent - CPU temps are around 37C @ room temp of 31C. The heat sink on the GFX card is the Thermalright HR-03 PLUS which I got from Prime - it is made ONLY for the nvidia 8800xx cards. This dropped my GPU temps from 63C to 48C.

Don't worry eazy... even though the wire clips look flimsy, they do the job. I've been using TR heatsinks since SLK948 days and to date i've never had a TR fan clip fail on me ;).

... and I have been using TR heat sinks since the SK6 days.... loved THAT heat sink - still have it around... never had a problem with any of my TR clips ..... but the clips on the Ultra-120 really scared me as they seemed quite loose.

....But .... I just checked and found that they are loose only on the Vantec fan and NOT on the Panaflo or Papst - so I checked the thickness of the frame of the Vantec against the other 2 and it is about 25% thinner :(

I now find that my GFX card temp has gone up 2 C with the turning of the Ultra 120 ... this HS is now throwing a bit of warm air onto the back of the 8800 card and heating it up a bit. I am not going to worry about this temp increase - I would rather have the Ultra-120 oriented front to back than turn it around for 2 C temp increase to the gfx card.

Eazy i have notice one from all those pic is that u pc is super clean. i don't see dust on it.
i clean my pc every week but then also there is lot dust i use rubber bulb blower
What is price for normal 120mm fan ?
and for Vantec fan/Antec
In last pic it look like it fan is going fall from heatsink.
Did try to bend those clips little bit

exactly what i was about to say about the clip. that it is perfectly tight & not loose. i guess u shouldnt use the stealth fan on it.
