i have notice one from all those pic is that u pc is super clean. i don't see dust on it.
i clean my pc every week but then also there is lot dust i use rubber bulb blower
What is price for normal 120mm fan ?
and for Vantec fan/Antec

The trick in not having dust in the case is to keep playing musical chairs with the hardware.... I change my drives and fans like you change clothes :ohyeah: ... already I have removed the Vantec fan and replaced it with a Panaflo which is held firmly by the Ultra-120's clips.

To get dust out of a case the try using a cloth instead of a blower - a blower will just move the dust from one place to another inside the case itself. I use the yellow cloth used for cleaning cars. I clean the fans with a stiff brush and a with a rubber blower outside the case. My HDDs pick up a lot of dust and I have to clean them every week - I have the HDDs sandwiched between 2 120mm fans - keeps them cool but dusty :(

I have seen cheap Sunon (fakes ?) and unknown branded fans for around 350/- ... I would never buy these fans as they will not be very good. Vantecs UVLED fans sell for around 650/- and Antecs are more than that maybe around 1200/- (not sure) check at theitdepot's pages for Antec fan prices.

In last pic it look like it fan is going fall from heatsink.
Did try to bend those clips little bit
An antec tricool(non-led) 120 mm fan should be around 700/- bucks at Prime.:)
Quite silent till the middle setting of 1600rpm and decent 56 odd cfm.

At high setting, its 2000rpm and 78 cfm- a lil buzzy but only a lil,- not noticeable if inside a case.

The white translucent plastic blades and body are much easier to clean than regular local black fans, a lil brushing and dust flakes off.:P
wipe with a damp cotton cloth and they look as good as new again.:D

I play musical chairs with it and the Tt silent wheel at the rear of my SLB.:P
No issues till date.:cool2:

Eazy Sir,
How is the hold of that S-clip?
I find it a little scary to be anchoring that monster with the SI128 like S-clip instead of the bolts.:(
And couldn't you have used the s-clip from the SI128?:P

And you already have a rear fan for exhaust in pull- so why don't you try and use that panaflo on the other side to push?:ashamed:

I have a permanent bend in my thumb with the pressure I had to use to press down the S Clip and after that there is a side locking clip to make the grip even firmer. No way that S Clip is going to give me trouble - in fact I was not comfortable with the bolts pressure on the MoBo - to much force applied on a small area of the mother board. :hap5: more than the S Clip.

YUP I could have used the S Clip from the SI-128 but that would have made the SI-128 redundant .... and the S Clip was only about 200 odd bucks so no big deal even for a broke guy like me. :)

The Case fan is throwing out air and the Panaflo is pulling air off the heat sink and feeding the case fan. I dont use the fan from the other side throwing air thru the heat sink as it was throwing warm air into the case and the 8800 GTS was getting warmer by 3C. Today I removed all fans off the Ultra-120 and the idle CPU temp went up only by ONLY ONE DEGREE C !!! :O .... BUT... on load of 2 Primes without a fan the temp shot up to 52C and it took very long to come back to normal ... Anandtech reported this same beahaviour of a fanless Ultra-120. So back to running the Panaflo @1650 RPM.

@Eazy - is the fan available at LR?

The Panaflo ? ... dont think so but you MAY try at Atlantic they may have this fan under the name of NMB .... I did see the Papst 120mm there for 1300/- but this was under the name of ebm Nadi who are the disti's in India for Papst fans.

FYI I find that a fan speed of 1650 RPM seems good enough to give low temps with the TR Ultra-120 HS. Found this with Vantecs Antecs and Panaflo fans.

^Wokay, will talk to Nilesh. Best source for Panaflo and Antec fans, na? Or is it Prime?

APEX = VANTEC
PRIME = ANTEC
ATLANTIC = PAPST
NETWORK ELECTRONICS #3874947 = SUNON
???? = PANAFLO

I just bought a Ultra 120
Since i didnt want to spend too much on a fan i got a Commonwealth fan for 240 bux from atlantic

I have a few Commonwealth fans... they have a very high RPM and make a little extra noise but I think they work fine for case use but for CPU's I prefer having 3 wire fans.

@TechHead - I just spoke to Gulbir about the Silverstone fans which he is importing and he says it will take around a month to get them down. He is ordering 80/92/120 mm fans.

Also for CPU application, i think its not only the cfm rating but the static pressure at the rpm the fan is used which matters a lot.:ashamed:

Coz the fan has to push air through a lot of obstruction- a low pressure fan will perform poorly and most of the air will buffet back in turn causing even lesser air passing through the heatsink.:ashamed:

Damn, i am so scared to pass any statements these days.:ashamed:

The Silverstone FM121 is a 120x120x25 dual ball bearing fan with 9 curved fan blades.
An excellent fan for cpu usage because of high cfm(110) coupled with high static pressure(3.6mmH2O).
Noisy(39odd dbA) at full speed but comes with its own aluminium front panel fan controller.:ohyeah:
Only con imo, need to dremel out the end to make TR fan clips fit.:(

na no need to dremel the edges , me using FMC3XW and its never fallen off the clips .. just remove if you are transporting case
