Hi,

Does anyone know if the PoP game (Sands of time) for PC work with the Xbox controller for windows?
OR do we need to use a 3rdparty tool like xpadder for this?

TIA

Sorry for hijacking... but for some reason my POP4 (The New Prince of Persia) doesn't recognize my Logitech DualAction pad. Anyone knows how to get it working?

@Roxtin: Thanks for confirming.

I've started gaming quite recently (after I got the xbox controller :) ) after a long gap, and am thinking of getting the PoP trilogy (no one seems to have it in stock as of now though :().

Don't like playing these RPG's with a Kbd/Mouse somehow.

Dude, POP SOT will not recognize the triggers on the xbox 360 controller. Coz, by default both triggers share the same axis (Z+ and z-). It will assign one command to both triggers. You will be better off using xpadder. I still have the old free version. If you want it, I can email you. Drop me a PM.

Thanks, but I do have the old free version myself :) (have not used it so far though as the other games I played had support for the controller)

Was just hoping that I wouldn't have to use that here too, but unfortunately think I may need to do that now.

When I used to play SOT, I had to even map the mouse to right analogue stick, because there is no in game support to navigate the menu by a controller. You HAVE to use the mouse. I dont remember if the cursor keys will let you do it. Check that. I played with a Rs. 200 PS2 look aliike controller BTW. Coz xbox controller had not released yet. You will be able to use the xbox controller with WW and TTT without xpadder. TTT even has rumble...

Awesome trilogy BTW, especially warrior within. Dark game and heavy metal (Two songs by Godsmack, "I stand alone" and "Realign". Both in credits.

Anyways, the trilogy is now retro, meaning that the games are available at 200 each. I remember I received a pamphlet with BFBC2 and it listed a site where you can buy the games from. Ill let you know when I get home at 11PM or so..

They are not rpg's.:( anyways all pop games recommends to play them with a controller but actually they are easier to play with kb and mouse. except some boss battles.

Yup looks like I have a lot of catching up to do. :)

That price sounds sweet. Waiting for the site info...

Aren't games where you play someone's character/role called 'role playing' games?

Yet another reason to not use the trash X360 Controller drivers from Microsoft.
Use XBCD, they allow you to use the analog triggers like digital buttons if required.

Its strange why you guys are getting problems. I have finished the game on Windows 7 64 bit, using my XBOX 360 wireless controller. All was fine and everything can be configured from within the game itself.

The only exceptions are DPAD settings. You'll have to use keyboard and mouse to save the game and all that stuff.

I hope you are just talking abt older games. Because xbox 360 controller wid default drivers is god sent for the new games man.... At least for me. Plug and play with full rumble support and in game accurate button prompts...

Yeah, think it must be the older games he is referring to.
The newer games with controller support feel great when played with the controller.

The entire point of this thread is to get the X360C working properly in an old game :P.

Newer games work alright yes, because the X360C has kind of become the definitive gamepad for PC games.
But I still much prefer XBCD; it has better deadzone management, nifty tricks like using the analog triggers as digital buttons, etc.

Actually in rpg's you take the role of your own created character.
But here you are not taking any kind of role there is already a well defined protagonist.

fallout 3 is an excellent example of a rpg.

i think google can help you for the rest.

therefore its not an rpg.you can say its a third person action adventure.

Hmm... interesting. Thanks for clearing that.

I didnt know what genre of games I was enjoying. :)

I don't think that requires different drivers to be used from the ones shipped by MS, does it?
OR do you mean to say that with the XBCD I don't need to configure the controller buttons like we do with xpadder (which I think uses the default MS drivers)?

Yeah, but its the same company that I am talking about.

Anyways, apparently, they dont have a website to order at riht now. You can go to any retail store and most of the games are available at least in Mumbai. Try planet M etc. Have you tried asking praashant? Or have you tried nextworld.in?
