i got a canon MP 160 recently

HP -> cheap printers, expensive cartriges , and cheap refills

Canon-> okayish price, cheap cartriges.

canon seems to have better print quality ... ( i think :D)

last time canon printers used to be very slow at printing compared to hp except in draft but the draft quality used to be quite bad

Canon is pretty decent... I have their bargain basement IP1200 for printing papers and airline tickets and it seems to do fine heh. Dirt cheap printer.

i dont mind the speeds , but the racket it makes is unbearable . switched it to night mode now. bit slower, but a lot more bearable

the 180 has a scanner that has 2x resolution of the 160, and a multi line display. i wouldnt buy it if it cost 1k more than the 160 :P

i am using the Hp 1210 predecessor to 1410 you have quoted i am happily satisfied.

it has been replace by F380 the better

recently i have good reviews of canon pixma aio, (canon printers as i used them in past, used to have very low running costs).

wraith has purchased canon in recent past so you can veiw his post on that.

imo you can take either of them HP or canon. (deciding factors after seeing personally.

I own HP 1402 All in one.

Worth the money... and I ain't looking for great quality and stuff.

Works fine :)

my bro got it thru an offer from Air Deccan.. for 3k or so.. not sure how much it cost buddy!

@akshitmohan: which one and why not please! just a point or 2 :)

@greenie: yea :P Multi DIGIT display

@others: thanks for your input guys :)

i've heard from a friend that the F380 isnt all that good so i've scratched that out..
looking at the canon models seriously..

aint there no Samsung ones? :?

me planning to write a review on it in the immediate future... tell me what all you want to know about it ,what it can do etc and it shall be done :D

the printer part of the 180 and the 160 are the same .

oh and one more diff, i think it has a mmc/sd card slot to print direct

@ vince : dont even look towards samsung in case of printers, if you need another option then check epson brands.

Okie guys.. went to Ritchie Street.. got meself a Canon Pixma MP 160 for Rs.4450 at Challenger Computers.. (they offered me the lowest price, but the Printer-USB cable is missing :@ .. have to call them up tomorrow :@ thank goodness i have another similar cable (from my digicam) for now )

Theres a special offer with this Canon All-In-One.. free 512 MB USB drive :D

Seems the MP 180 is not available (according to one shopkeeper, its been released just now.. but strangely the manual for the MP 160 has instructions foro the MP 180 as well :| )

at Kamal Computers, the HP C3188 was quoted at Rs.5150, but i did not buy it coz i couldnt find any proper review on the net..

Plus the Canon one has a 2-year onsite warranty :D while the HP has only a 1-year warranty,,

Thanks to EVERYONE for their help!!!!!!! :)
