Laptops Prob with my Dell order: Anyone remmbr when Dell prices were reduced this month?

Hi im havin a problem with my order..
The payment cheque for my order was cleared from my account to Dell india on 5th Dec, although i had placed my order on 30th November.. So the price was 2k higher than it is right now.. If it was reduced by the time my cheque got cleared then ill ask my Dell rep for the compensation...

Im having more problems with the order.. I placed the order on 29th Nov and the rep said my order got confirmed on 30th Nov.. but it doesnt seem to be the case as the cheque got cleared much later and also the website tracking system states that my order was received on 10th Dec. why this much gap ??

The rep had promised me 10-15 days interval for getting the laptop but as of today its already 14 days... Now yesterday he told me it'll be 10 more days... :huh: .. The website tracking sys present status is tht it has been shipped from factory on 12th dec....

please help..

If its getting delayed, ask for the new price or some extra things like extended warranty.

The price of item is decided when you accept the terms and send the payment. But if prices are revised and also you are not getting it when you are promised, you should get the benefits of new pricing.

The delay on site is common. When they say shipped from factory, its probably been shipped from singapore. So it will take time.

Talk with the customer rep again (nicely ;) ).
 
i hope these delays are not a scam by dell sales people trying to make extra money when price drops happen...
 
Nah, price drops happen all year round. Its just luck. The delays are rare but happens as most shipments are imported when order is received.

Dell is too big and reputed to scam people like this.

i have recieved the laptop case......

it mentions that i have to wait for a dell rep to turn up for joint inspection...only then to open it....

do i wait...?????????????????
 
^ Yeah wait,, Call up ur rep and ask him for installation as soon as possible..

Buddy u shud ask them for compensation for two things,,
1) For 2k price reduction,
2) For the delay,

But be dead serious,,,Tell him u might cancel the order cause it serves u no purpose since its very late,,
and that since there is a price decrease u want a reduction,and world over this is a general practice u also want it..

In short,
Get warranty extended to 3 yrs complete cover for the delay..

and get some upgrade for the 2k..
If he tells he cant upgrade tell him that he shud arrange for post installation urgrade..Talk to customer care,, not with ur sales rep...that i'll be better..
 
ok yea man partymonger, ill talk to customer care tomorrow...
another thing that im losing out on is tht a free upgrade to T5270 processor is being offered now (for 1420).. so that was earlier costing around 3k i think....all in all im losing about 5k , and plus the delay... so ill fight for this compensation...i wont ask for 3year warranty upgrade as this (and nylon carry case) was already included in my order...and if they do not give upgrades then do they give things like 9 cell battery/portable hdd/leather case as compensation?
