problem in wifi

Hi
I have a mtnl broadband connection .
Problem i am facing is that my phone and modem is in the drawing room which is at a distance from my room in which the PC is placed. As a result there is problem in wifi signals and my internet gets D/c a lot ..

What can i do to resolve the problem of signal strength:huh:

Get a better router? The MTNL router is one of the worst I have seen and expectantly has a very poor wifi range. The only solution is to get a better router with a long range or to get a 50 mt. wire and connect it from the PC but then the whole point of Wifi would be pointless if you are using it only for that particular PC. Although if you have multiple gadgets and have signal problem only with the PC in your room then the wire would be a more effective and cheaper option.

for existing router, try to change channels, remove g spectrum obstructions which emit at similar range, try a better placement, remove metallic/magnetic obstructions, check if firmware upgrade is available, upgrade the drivers of the receiver.
