problem updating firmware for p990i

hi ppl....

im having problems upgrading my firmware...
i have downloaded the latest seus software and installed it..

but

when i get to the final screen after selecting my phone model as p990

then i do the following

1.turn off the phone

2. remove the battery and insert it again

3. now i press the "C" button on the phone and connect the usb cable with my pc still keeping the "C" button pressed

and nothing happens... i dont get any option to proceed to update the firmware...

in windows when i connect the phone to usb cable it says that it cannot recognize the device.... ("i mean how is it supposed to get detected if its turned off how dumb ")

or is it me thats dumb and doing something wrong plz help guys:huh: :ashamed:

First try connecting ur phone using the sony ericsson phone suite. (forgot the original name.) it will install all the required drivers on ur pc. install all the stupid drivers which it requires.. it will do it automatically but will bug u 8-10 times.

After that try transferring some file to ur phone.

Then once confirmed that ur phone is detected when on, then try the normal update procedure.

Also plug the phone cable in same USB port that u first tried to connect. (Actually u can plug in any USB port but if ur one of the port i shaving issue like mine case.. u will never come to know.)
