either your hdd is not getting power properly or its about to die

no this is not cause by any of the above.....the case of this the buffer of the casing cannot handle the data given by the computer.....and it could write it on the HDD thats why the error....I had this problem and I could not solve it so I had to buy new casing to solve it.....

If anyone know how to solve this problem ........please post it here....

Hi,

I have tried with different ports and different cable....it didn't work.

Hey nuke, did chaning the case work for ya...then i might try the same.

i had delay write error because my PSU was going bad (as in comp, not casing)

changed that and everything was back to normal

ergo. bad power supply

Most of times the problems with External HDD 99% is becos of lack of power from USB port.Adding a dual USB connecter wud help a lot.
Then other times it has to be formatted, partitioned etc from disk management and most ppl also dnt do tht and can find it in explorer windows.

Btw the cases are fragile the chip in it might brk any time.So it dsnt hurt to try with a new case.I returned mine today.Hope new one works :hap2:

New case didn't help.....from windows the write failure message comes and when tried from Dos , it says the drive cannot be accessed directly.

Can't run check disk or defrag.... nothing...

Which is the best tool,to retrieve the data from the disk, after that i guess i will have to format it...and also get a new case.

If the new case didnt help its better to attach it to a frnds laptop or get IDE adapter to connect to ur PC and see if it works.Attach it as slave becos I think ur MBR is gone. And probably u will need to change some jumpers too.If it shows up format and do all the necessary things. Ya and be careful use 'Safely Remove Hardware' feature.:hap2:

In my experience this problem must be related to ur computer.

Same happened with me when i plugged in the USB port of my friend's desktop and my both casings (One Laptop HDD n other the normal 3.5") began to behave strange. Almost all my data was unreadble and copying to casing worked a few times bt in USB 1.1 mode fter intially doin it on 2.0 speed.

I panicked and unplugged my HDDs and took them back to my laptop and then when i connected them, they were cool calm and content :ohyeah:

Though one or two files became unreadble :@
But i dont know what was the reason for it, was it a fault earlier or it happened due to that idiot comp

Anywayz this was the same problem as u r facing so my suggestions will be to try it on some other comp or laptop and also connect HDD directly to comp and recover ur data.

Best of luck
