problem with airtel night scheme.

i use 798nu wherein the net goes unlimited after 10 pm till 8 am with 512kbps, now the funny thing is everything works super during day time that mean's before 10 pm, after 10 pm net starts giving problem's, loses up connection, let me put it this way -
Symptoms are -
1) Cannot browse anything or DL anything
2) Have to restart the computer to use net
3) Sometimes have to remove lan wire from lan port and plug it back in, i also removed the lan card from motherboard, but wasn't any good at all, + also re-installed driver for network but it was worth nothing.
Now the pc has a new fresh OS installed with minimum application and the problem still remains. I thought it would be virus but its none like that.
Should we check the wiring from pc to the connection station?
please let me know what you guys have to say, i'll be calling them soon....
 
they have put some cap citing the Fair Usage policy .. even i use the same plan and am facing problems off late .. same with some of my friends. i am shifting to swift 1099 plan now.
 
none of the petitions are of any value.

whatever airtel and other private ISPs want, they'll do just that. they have monopolized the Indian market. Therefore, they can implement any number of crap policies they want.
 
iam facing the same problem, am sick too.

complained, they came and fixed but it still goes back to the same way!

It does not look like big.bAd.boi! connection is being capped.
If someone exceeds the download limit, his bandwidth is halved i.e 256 kbps not 512 kbps.
This is some other problem or maybe Airtel is playing it dirty. They are trying to restrict users from using the net during free hours.

Try to contact Airtel CC and ask them what is the problem.
If they can't solve it, ditch Airtel and move to BSNL. It may seem that BSNL charges more in your area but atleast they allow you to use the net freely during the unlimited hours(2am-8am) and best of all, they have to download limit.
 
If the net's not working, dnt break ur own head.
Call CC and ask them to rectify the issue. After they say its fine, ask them to keep the case open for u to check and confirm.

If it occurs again, call them up again and ask them it is not resolved.

Be firm on ur stance whatever they say.

If it happens the third time, call CC and ask for the manager citing the complaint no and unresolved since so long.
It should be resolved by the time u reach this stage...:ohyeah:

Update - i am using 798nu, 5gb download limit during day time ( 8am - 10pm _ after that its 512 unlimited, i knew u guys were talkin abt fair usage policy but then i called up CC around 7-8 times spoke to different people just to confirm that there is no FUP in this scheme, and they said there isn't.

Update - spoke to senior cus exec, after calling lots n lots of time just to confirm that 798 nu has no FUP now i know it has FUP, all the guys i spoke to before didn't inform me abt it.

i asked this guy - Senior Exec abt FUP - he says - sir it is applied only by airtel ( kyuki airtel bada topp hai ) so that other user can get equal share of download ( bascially we are out of bandwith and we like politicians have to manipulate to fool people ) so that u can download stuff at night-

i said - net doesn't work at all in night and after 10pm specifically which is my happy download hour. there was an eternal peace in his silence he knew he had nothing to say.

He ends up saying he'll check the line from server side.
 
this is quite unfair, you can try to put up yr convern with the TRAI people will all communications that you had with airtel.
 
i have the explorer 1099 plan...its meant to go to 1mbps after 10pm...for the first two day my speed in night dint go above 384kbps..i called up airtel and told the problem and its been 1 month now..no probs
 
PART CONT.

i called up and spoke to airtel senior cus or It supervisor, he promised that the problem should VAMOOSE within next 24 hours and same was said by guy who handle's my area's network. The problem is still there infact the net worked for only freaking half an hour for rest 7 and half hour the net was dead, man i took this scheme and rapidshare a/c for this, who should i speak to now?
 
^.. Get on their nerves... There is definitely a problem with your connection & they should resolve it... Ask them time frame within which they intend to correct the problem... Then call them again with the reference no. they gave you first.

Also get the MODEM changed just in case... Its FREE....
