I am facing a strange issue with my Dell Studio 14.
I have set a password on Bios. everytime it asks me for the Bios Password..

Now I am not able to enter the Bios.
On startup whenever i press F2 button, it asks for the Bios Password(as it normally does when F2 is not pressed) . After entering the password, the Windows starts.

Could anyone please suggest how could i enter the Bios Now and disable the password

Regards
Sunny

The easiest way to reset the BIOS password is to remove the CMOS battery which works as backup power source for the BIOS.
But since it is a laptop, doing that will be very difficult.

If your laptop is under warranty, call Dell CC and ask them what to do. But if it is not under warranty, take it to a large repair shop (check its reputation beforehand, otherwise some parts can go missing), and ask the person to reset the BIOS.
Ask him to do that infront of you, DO NOT let him take the laptop out from infront of your eyes. If he refuses to do it infront of you or asks to leave the laptop with him for a few days, LEAVE THAT SHOP IMMEDIATELY with your laptop.

By the way, why do you want to reset the BIOS password?

he wants to reset the password because he is not able to access the bios as far as i can read his statement

You can try to flash your bios with a usb floppy drive, the way one is supposed to do in case of a corrupted bios.

sunny yaar since u bought it with complete 3 year cover

just call the dell guy, he will help u on the phone and if not , he will visit ur place and do it in front of u

u dont need to worry

just call the dell rep!!

Hi...
I am now able to enter the Bios....
I hitted f2 three four times and entered the Bios. After rebooting, i again entered the BIOS without any problems... I dont know what the problem was, but now its working perfectly fine...
I am still wondering what was the cause of this problem..
