Hi im having a very irritating problem with my lan.

I can't seem to enable or disable my local area network connection by right clicking and clicking on disable... it says {error disabling connection - It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection maybe using one or more protocols that do not support Plug and play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account.}

I have to disable my lan card from device manager and enable it from there as well... if i try to enable it from local area connection under network connections by right clicking on local area connection and clicking on disable. I get another error saying connection failed.

The thing is it used to work absolutely fine before and started only yesterday. The only change made to my system was that I had installed partition magic.

I tried the crypt services fix ...

{net stop cryptsvc

ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2}

I ran a spyware scan as well... but to no avail the problem still persists.

I also enabled the ability to enable disable lan connection under gp edit.

Still problem persists... pls help.

Tried it buddy... well neway had almost forgotten I posted this thread... did a fresh reinstall of xp neway... so problem is gone... im guessing partition magic was the culprit here.
