Problem with Far Cry

I have been having a big problem with Far Cry Original DVD updated to v1.4 beta.

Whenever I go outdoors in the game I graphical errors.



what is the solution?

all settings are at max @1280x1024 with 6xfsaa, 16xhqaf & hdr
 
well..just installed...n it gives me errors too..i hvnt made any updates though...first scene indoors looked so ordinary compared to Fear....
 
will check n tell u in sometime.

@vij - i dunno what u talking about. farcry is superior in gfx to fear doom3 hl2

well i saw the first 2 min and shut it dwn...wouldnt know maybe...but seriosuly fear looks better with better lighting.. firefights superior physics n all......ok maybe have to see more

far cry is better than d3 n fear maybe ...but not hl2 ... hl2 is jst awesome. also the interiors of far cry are not really that great ...the lush green exteriors are thoroghly amazing though.

i hope u will agree wid me on this :ohyeah:

surprisinly both of u r using x1800xt's and both of ur getting the same error ... some issue maybe ..btw dont update to the beta patch and try it. and if any more ppl can test it on x1800xt / x1900xt then we can find out if its a compatibility issue or not.
 
Seems ok now...

played 20 min no issue....pre issue was wth ram timings set to 1...

b/w this is the first "un-original" game im using...also not patched...il get back on this....

far cry is pleasantly different...but no comparison to the graphics of fear..what setting u guys played fear on?
 
guys please help me my game only works with v1.00 & v1.10.

but does'nt work with v1.30, v1.31, v1.32, v1.33 & v1.40
 
Try reinstalling the game.If this problem is present in other games too then its a hardware fault, if not then its the games problem.
 
i have played it for 15 min..no prob...when r u getting those problems..

only prob occured when i had my ram at 1t..im a njoob n dont kn hw to tweak ram..so left it at default n now its fine(for 15 min tat i played)..

PS: People who have played fear at max settings...tell me...isnt fear much better looking game with better physics...

but far cry is diffeent n the AI is awesome..can c that already
 
What driver version are you using Udit?

Reason why I asked this is coz I faced similar severe artifacting on Dreamfall-The longest journey on my XPS when I installed it...

I downgraded the video driver to the old 81.98 (nVidia forceware) and now it runs perfectly fine
 
I think Vij meant Farcry's indoors gfx aren't as good as Fear's or Doom3's, which is true. Nothing can touch Doom3's indoors graphics.

why are ragging about FEAR being better offcourse FEAR is better as it is a 2005 release & Far Cry is a 2004 release.
