DarkAngel said:Not by a margin that justifies the price difference, i5 2500 is the processor of choice now. Best VFM. For 5k PREMIUM(~45% extra money) i5 2600K offers HT, 2MB extra L3 cache(8MB vs 6MB) and 100MHz more stock speed!(3.4GHz vs 3.3GHz)
AnandTech - Bench - CPU
And you can easily OC the i5 2500K to ~4.3Ghz-4.4GHz when you feel the need for more power. Better to invest the ~5k in some other component or just save it for later upgrades.

. And for the other part use 1.5k[8400] from this 5k to get a back up instead of Z68 IMO .
Hades. said:See buddy we are here to suggest what's best for your usage but if you want to waste your money then go ahead and buy what you want... What will happen with i5 2500k the same thing will happen with i7 2600k... In today's world nothing is future proof someday or the another the thing you would buy todau would get older and by then you be having a much better option... So don't think about future and buy what's more vfm...
rahulyo said:Hades is right . Nothing is future proof . So just take what is more VFM now .
okie ! I'm convinced now, i5 2500k it isrite said:Instead of buying a Core i7 2600k for 3 years. But a 2500k for 2 years and sell it after 2 years when you upgrade. That makes more sense!
Hades. said:Are you looking to overclock if yes then stay away from h67 boards as you wont be able to overclock i5 2500k on any h67 board... But if you want best of both worlds then wait for the z68 chipset boards to hit indian shores...
