1. BLACK { February 14 }

The developers of Burnout take the heavy throttle of its highly-evolved graphics engine, shove a threaded barrel into its exhaust ports, and load it up with high-caliber bullets with Black, a first-person shooter from EA and Criterion Games.

Join the world’s most brutal and enigmatic strike force. The BLACK tactical squad operates under the cloak of complete anonymity and deniability to protect the US from threats foreign and domestic. It answers to no one, allowing it to carry out brutal and overt operations around the globe. Go deep into the world of clandestine warfare as you use any means necessary to get the job done

2. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent { March 1 }

Veteran agent Sam Fisher is back. But he's never faced an enemy like this before. To stop a devastating terrorist attack, he must infiltrate a vicious terrorist group and destroy it from within. For the first time ever, experience the relentless tension and gut-wrenching dilemmas of life as a double agent. As you infiltrate a terrorist organization in its American headquarters, you must carefully weigh the consequences of your actions. Kill too many criminals and you'll blow your cover. Hesitate too long and millions will die. Do whatever it takes to complete your mission, but get out alive.

The fourth game in the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series thrusts players into a new breed of gameplay that promises to innovate and revolutionize the Splinter Cell franchise. Ubisoft takes the saga of Sam Fisher into entirely new territory, expanding the story and depth of his character
3. Final Fantasy XII { March 16 }

First traditional RPG installment in Square's long-running Final Fantasy series since Final Fantasy X. While Final Fantasy X-2 offered a mission-based structure, Final Fantasy XI explored online roleplaying, and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles focused on multiplayer link-up gaming, Final Fantasy XII (12) goes back to the meat of the series by offering a sweeping storyline, a party setup, and character advancement. The game follows the exploits of main character Vaan who can join forces with at least two characters at the time. Final Fantasy XII is being produced and directed by Yasumi Matsuno and is slated for release on PlayStation 2.

4. The Godfather: The Game { March 7 }

The book by Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola's classic film serve as dual inspirations for Electronic Arts' action/adventure The Godfather. In it gamers can join the Corleone family to exploit loyalties and fear as they rise through the ranks to become Don in 20th century New York City. Carry out orders, earn respect, and make the Big Apple all your own. Featuring non-linear gameplay, The Godfather provides players with countless choices for solving family problems with brutal violence, skillful diplomacy, or a cunning mixture of both. From mob hits and bank heists to drive-bys and extortion, step deep inside a world where intimidation and negotiation are your tickets to the top.
5. Okami { March 1 }

The first original title from Capcom's Clover Studio -- headed up by Viewtiful Joe producer Atsushi Inaba. Okami takes place in a time when people still believed in the existence of God. The world has become a lifeless place, as shown in the game's use of Hokusai-style Japanese woodblock print visuals. Playing as Ama Terasu, a sun god who takes on the form of a wolf, your goal is to bring life back to the world. Bringing life back to the world involves defeating lots of beasts. With each beast you defeat, the world's life force is restored just a bit, with colors and eventually people appearing. Famitsu reveals two of the game's main beasts, the Ama no Jyaku and the Nue. Ama no Jyaku has the ability to peep on what others are thinking and disturbs them by doing the opposite of what they want. Nue, meanwhile, gains strength with every sip of the alcohol that he carries with him.
6. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence {March 14 }

A PS2 exclusive expanded release of Hideo Kojima's powerful and dazzling Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. For Subsistence, a new 3rd Person View Camera" gives a controllable, low-angle view of the action for a more intense stealth-action experience with the character. Also included is a new multiplayer online mode -- choose "Team Battle" or "Snake vs. Enemies" and carry out missions cooperatively or competitively. Expanding further with Subsistence, this package contains versions of the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, the games that started it all (and have never been made available outside Japan). In addition, you can find a new Duel Mode, a Demo Theater, expanded Snake vs. Monkey missions and more.
7. Tomb Raider: Legend { April }

The first Tomb Raider title to be designed by Crystal Dynamics (after years under original creator Core), Tomb Raider: Legends is an all-new start for Lara Croft. New character animations and control schemes compliment the more natural character design and level details for the most immersive chapter in the series. Lara comes packing modern devices such as a magnetic grappling device, binoculars, frag grenades, personal lighting device and communications equipment for her all-new adventure.
8. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories { April }

It's time to return to Liberty City, the town where all the rules were broken as Grand Theft Auto 3 revolutionized gaming and made the GTA series the biggest franchise on the planet.

Surprising many, this PS2 version of the PlayStation Portable hit was announced in Take-2's financial statements in January, and is expected to follow the same storyline and include the same features (including possibly multiplayer?), although publisher Rockstar has not made any details known about what this version will or will not include.
9. Hitman: Blood Money {April 2006 }

The fourth in the chilling Hitman series featuring the cold-blooded killer Agent 47. Finding that members of his contract agency, The ICA, are now being quietly (and mortally) eliminated, Agent 47 suspects a larger organization is moving in. Fearing he may be the next target, he heads to America. His jobs now will pay in straight-up cash -- and how he spends the money will affect what weapons he has and what he does next. The developer added new gameplay systems, such as the concepts of notoriety and of blood money. The new Notoriety system means that anyone causing a bloodbath worthy of front page news is risking being recognised by civilians and guards in the future. Blood money lets players spend their earnings on fully customisable precision weapons and specialist equipment, or they can buy additional information upon the targets and location at hand, to aid a successful and professional hit.
10. BULLY { April - May }

You're not going to take it anymore. From edgy publisher Rockstar's Vancouver development team comes this dark comedy set in the most vile and sadistic setting yet in a Rockstar videogame: the schoolyard. As a troublesome schoolboy, you'll laugh and cringe as you stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious reform school, Bullworth Academy
11. Scarface: The World is Yours { March 1 }

The Scarface video game will create a gameplay environment that authentically recreates the historical time period of the film, touching on politics, news items and events of the day. Players will travel through the steamy, often violent streets of Miami, the irie islands of the Florida Keys, the Bahamas and various other locales and will interact with a world full of seedy and dangerous characters to procure information, negotiate business deals, smuggle contraband and avoid rivals and DEA on a mission to rebuild their fallen empire
12. Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure { February 14 }

Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure combines combat, action, adventure and stealth as the main character, Trane, sets out to prove that he's the best graffiti artist around. It's really not that easy, however, as the game features something called, "Get In, Get Up, and Get Out". Gamers will need to use stealth in order to "get in" to restricted areas, dexterity and agility in order to scale tall objects to "get up", and the ability to think on your feet as you run from the powers that be in order to "get out". The city of New Radius is a living character in Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure; it sets the tone and offers the thematic boundaries that oppress Trane from the opening cinematic to the dramatic conclusion.
13. Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition { January 24 }

A special edition of Capcom's stunning third entry in the saga of the stylish gunslinger, Dante and You can play as vergil !
AND LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST.......................................................

14. EA Sports Fight Night Round 3 { February 14 }

EA Sports Fight Night Round 3 brings the most intense boxing videogame experience to the virtual ring. On the way to becoming boxing’s greatest legend, train to fight like the best including Muhammad Ali and Oscar De La Hoya or create a boxing style unique only to your boxer. Go toe-to-toe with greats such as Ali, De La Hoya, Joe Frazier, Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr. Outside of the ring, gamers can establish intense rivalries through pre-fight events putting purpose and passion behind every hit.
And Guys believe me there are more than 50 other games worth mentioning
but iam feeling too lazy to type so i would just shut up. But the above were the games that iam anticipating the most . Looks like 2006 is gonna be one hell of a year for gaming geeks !:clap:

if anybody thinks that just because next-gen has arrived the current-gen will die needs to get slapped!
The ps1 kicked ass at least for a year even after ps2's launch, heck EA even ported most of the games they releases on ps2 on ps1.
Expect developers to pull a hault on ps2 only around 2007 end and not earlier than that.

Anyway's, amazing work Bluffmaster!! :hap2:

The ps2/xbox/gamecube is dead, believe it. All the games posted are multi-platform titles. Once a console stops getting exclusive releases its days are numbered. Ports, and multi-platforms will always be there ! There are 8-bit game systems being sold even now, so does that mean they are still alive and rocking. ;)

Just my 2 cents.

Well, it wont exactly "die" for people who have it :p..

Games will still be released on the PS2, until 2007 atleast. :).

Nice work Bluffmaster!...

As in multi-platform with other consoles or the PC??

in any case, be it a port with PC or the Xbox the sales of the game on ps2 pwn the other ones.

Besides, GTA LC, Goty for 2006 write it down. Ps2 port of GTA SA is still ruling the roster while port sales on the PC and Xbox are almost dead now.

Ps2 is still on top, developers go where they can cash in the most and the way it is now ps2 still shares a major 70% of the console (No handheld and 360) market and next-gen will establish itself by late 2007. Ps2 is gonna live strong till then imo.

GTA: LCS is hardly goty material, the game is a bit castrated when compared to San andreas, wherein there arent many aircrafts, u can climb into buildings, no swimming etc. True that the ps2 still shares a huge market but devs will focus all their better games/resources towards next gen consoles from now on. I've had the ps2 as well ;) sold it once i got bored of it :D

Ah the sales ... , such an accurate demographic.
Even though everyone and their mum knows the PC version is better in every single aspect.

But then why the rehashed GTA games keep receiving such hype with each new iteration is beyond me. They all play exactly the same with their ridiculously stupid & irritating missions.

Godfather better be atleast as good as Mafia ...

Who says it'll be a straight port of the PSP? On the ps2, its the next thing after San An, obviously will have what San An had and more....

But then why the rehashed GTA games keep receiving such hype with each new iteration is beyond me. They all play exactly the same with their ridiculously stupid & irritating missions.

ignoring the tech issue's a regualr user could get with the PC version again? San AN was full of it, then again you've hardly played the game. Bring me one reliable pro review that said the PC port is better than the Ps2 port. Gamespot and IGN both have given better scores to the most inferior ps2. Both have said there are tons of sound and GFX issues with the PC port.

have a fetish for hating the best selling franchises like Sims, GTA?

There's as much as diffrence between GTA VC and GTA SA as there is between - NFSUG and NFSUG2 and NFSMW, all the counter strikes, Unreal Tournaments and Battlefields etc and the last thing GTA SA is, is a rehashed repeation of GTA VC and i've got all the pro reviewers like Gamespot, IGN, 1up backing it with bright scores, none of them complained about repetition and you're the first one. GTA sells because of its time value, even if you have finished the storyline there is so much more to do - (Taxi, Vigilante, Burglar, Paramedic, fire fighter, Races, buying garages and cars, modding them, shopping, go on a scenic tour on a plane or a car, kill people etc, watching over your territory, collecting hidden stuff, or jjust exploring the cities etc) and the same can't be said for games like Mafia - They tried to rip off GTA but made it story oriented, 20 hrs into it, story is done with, credits roll up and there's no point in playing it more. Not same for GTA's. A casual fan would easily spend 50 hrs into it.

Even though everyone and their mum knows the PC version is better in every single aspect.

Ignoring the tech issues again? Both gamespot and ign have said PC port is full of sound and GFx probs.

Mafia was twice the game GTA ever will be even with half its' content.
All that tp stuff didn't appeal to me one bit, would be fun in an mmorpg, pointless in sp.

GTA is fun for a while, the music owns and the amount of life they put into the world and recreation of the time period is commendable. But it gets boring fast if one can't get into the extra stuff, hunting for secrets yeeeaa...

Gamespot's Xbox and PS2 ratings are totally different, its less critical then PC games.

I did enjoy GTA SA much more then Mafia, the fun factor was greater. Also GTA SA was huge, and you could do anything. The reason it was fun becuase the NPC's were not total dummies.

Guys why are u comparing GTA with MAFIA ? They both are awesome games !
But they cannot be compared ! What GTA has MAFIA does'nt have and what MAFIA has GTA does'nt have.They both have their advantages and disadvantages ! If u had realistic looking graphics , gameplay and story in MAFIA, then u have this amazing crazy gameplay { planes , boats , jetpack etc }, amazing sond and fun never ending Freerome gameplay in GTA.Comparing these 2 is not right ! I enjoyed playing GTA and i enjoyed playing MAFIA , but still i cannot decide which game did i like better !:hap2:
As far as the life of PS2 is concerened , do u know there are more than 100 million owners of PS2 in the world. so how can u think that developers will ignore PS2 all together and concentrate only on the next gen ?:hap5:
Well xbox and gamecube will die , thats true coz hardly 18 million xbox units have been sold but PS2 will remain alive atleast till 2008 !:clap:

And I know how much you regretted doing that :eek:hyeah:, so much so that you are now thinking of buying a psp...buahahahahaha....:eek:hyeah:

DC.

lmao ! that was only for re4 which i happened to play, finished 3/4 of the game. And psp is a totally different matter, how can you even compare the two ? i was thinking of getting the i-pod but spending 10k+ on just a music player wasn't in anyway justified.

@Bluffmaster: We all know how many ps2's have been sold that in anyways doesnt change how the gaming industry works. Once new consoles have been announced and their dev kits out the major publishers/devs start working and focusing their energy and resources on the new consoles. Ofcourses ports and multi-platformers will continue but stellar/exclusive titles wont be there. Big corporations arent here for social service ;) they are here for the money. :)

yeah that's right, the bigger developers have already started their work on Next-Gen, as far as the exclusives go, like Metal Gear Solid and Resient Evil, they've take their jump, but some like Devil May Cry and Grand Theyft Auto are to say. Plus a lot of games here and there which alre multiports so its still genty plenty of games but just not in the fashion which it did before the next-gen came around the corner. Games will continue to be released at least until next year mid, that's for sure.

The issues in GTA PC are minor glitches which are understandable considering the virtually infinite combinations of hardware and noobs who go into a troubleshooting frenzy god forbid the game requires anymore than popping in the CD (again and again and again... forever) on their part.

Of all the GTAs, only GTA3 didn't play best on PC due to the huge memory leak it had. The rest are far superior games on a PC, unless ofcourse you like auto-aim and castrated view distances.
You are the first one to say VC & SA played better on a PS2, but then RE4 looks better than Farcry to you.

but then RE4 looks better than Farcry to you.

RE4 does come quite close to Facr Cry though :p

I Wonder how the game coders managed to do that.....

Anywya, in the end, what matters is the game play and the immersive, which is why I can't really say if i like Far Cry better or RE4 or GTA-SA

To be frank, I still like playing Mario Bros 3 on symbian Vnes more than any of the above :ashamed:

Well then u really dont know much about gaming , do u ?You say that iam the first one to say that VC & SA are better on ps2 ?Do u even know something like a gaming site ? have u ever even been to a gaming site before ? Looks to me that u r a huge pc fan boy ,dude iam having every version of GTA on both the pc as well as ps2 and i am saying it definately played better on a ps2 :eek:hyeah: ! The advantege of playing GTA on a pc is only slightly better graphics and nothing more ! Plus installing the game on a pc is sooooooooo tedious , first of all SA contains 6 cds then u have to install them one by one , it takes more than 4 gbs and ages to install and finally run , hey but on a ps2 all u have got to do is just plug and play on a great 42' inch home theatre system !:bleh:

Well i must tell u that farcry is a total different game with a total different settings and environment.It looks beautiful no doubt but u cant say that RE4 is'nt comparable. RE4 has totally different settings and looks awesome and very realistic on an aging console !

Have u ever heard of GOD OF WAR ?
