Hi,
Planning to buy a cheap PC with onboard Graphics Card,
How could one rate PS2 Graphics vs. Current Day OnBoard Graphics Chipsets
Im not comparing High end Graphic Cards bt cheap Onboard Ones.
Need Help.
Thanks.

But will future game development for the ps2 stop?
I read somewhere that the ps2 is still the best selling Console Worldwide. So, will sony stop developing new games/release new games on the ps2 platform? Any good games under development?

The point is Sony does not develop the games, the game companies do and they decide whether to develop for PS2 or PS3.

The Point is that PS2 already has a HUGE Game Library ..... with PS3 now released obviously there aint gonna be many PS2 exclusive titles coming up but still the games already available for PS2 are so great that its still worth a Buy !

Oh and anyways with ur Onboard Graphics u aint gonna be able to play any present games let alone the future Games , so basically if you are investing just to play games , i suggest u get a PS2 !

ps2 : 7000 for the slim one , i guess the bulky one would be 6000 ( i guess)

games : 70-100 was what i used to get

And 1 piece of advice....shell out that extra money for a Sony original memory card and a controller.

Coming to the question that u originally asked... If u get a latest Dx9 based onboard gfx like AMD690G I guess, it could b better performing and more long term than a PS2. You could always upgrade to Dx10 card in a 2 yr time, when mainstream and low-end will b Dx10!!

But comparing the PC with a console is comparing apples and oranges. PC is more general in its use and playing strategy games or even RPG/MMORPG is easily better on the PC!! U should mention which are ur fav games and then mayb the choice/opinion from others mayb simpler... If u want the console fun, u can always get a controller and enjoy the feel!!

^^ Yup, a real good point there..

Depends a lot on the type of games that you play.. If you are a strategy/RPG buff, then go for the PC.. Else it makes more sense to go 4 the PS2..

Ps2 already has a huge blockbuster library that will take years to fully experience and from the looks of it it will keep on running through 2007. Not to mention, its backward compatible with the entire PS1 library. About the graphics, I really don't think onboard one's could handle anything the Ps2 does with games like Re4 and GoW.

Its a great time to get a Ps2, its cheap and PS3 will take 2-3 years to hit onto its prime.

Technically anything that can be done by a PS2 can be done by a 3dfx Voodoo 2 . Hell even the voodoo 2 is more capable... PS2 can't do mipmapping :P. Any onboard graphics chip is 10 generations better. Stop trolling.

...

Anything to put Sony/Ps2 down right? :P I'm just going to pretend I never read that, unless your next post actually recommends the thread creator to go for 3d voodoo instead of a Ps2, which I would pick over the best of any PC GFX card to day just so I can play those countless timeless classics existing on the system.
