PS3 connectivity to Tv via AV cable

Hi -

When I connect PS3 to my TV (normal TVs not LCD) with the AV cable provided in PS3 kit, TV doesn't display anything. Why?

There could be many reasons, make sure that you have selected the correct video mode (AV1, AV2 etc), the right pin goes into the right slot (yellow in yellow, red in red, white in white), or else there could be a problem with either your PS3 or TV.
 
I've inserted it correctly in the AV ports but it isnot working. If needed, then should I call some customer service number for PS3? if yes, what the support nmber?
 
dharmilstar, i think u r right. I've almost 5yr old Samsung TV & I bought PS3 from Sony World in New Delhi last year. I'll check that cable with my LCD.
Isn't there any workaround to make PS3 work with my Samsung tv?
 
I tried connecting AV cable of PS3 to the AV port on my LCD but still no luck. To my knowledge, LCds now support both NTSC & PAL version & I've PS3 that supports PAL.
So whats the solution? Is the cable faulty?
 
If any of your friends own a ps3... why dont you try swapping the cables?

Did it work before? Did you make any changes which might have affected the display?
 
Nop...i've not made any changes. Probably, I should call Sony support as no one close to me has PS3
