PSP Buying Advice

Hi Guys, I always wanted to have a PSP since its release, its like a dream gadget for me. Finally I can buy it atmy own but I am in a big confusion. Before going for it I just checked with few of my friends who already have it and what they suggest is that its a good gadget, but its useless if its unhackable. They were having PSP3000 running FW 5.5 and 6. I googled a lot about PSP before making any decesions, and
what I came to know that its not possible to hack PSP3000 with FW version 5.5 and above.

So my doubts are:
1.Shall I buy the latest PSP with FW version 6.0, costing rs.9.5k? and rs1.8k for 8gb memory card
2.Or Shall I go for a second hand unhackable psp3000 FW version 5.5 costing rs.5.5k? from a local retailer
3.Or for a second hand PSP2000, fully hacked for rs5.5k? from a loacal retailer

My friends are suggesting not to go for any second hand stuff, but instead buy the latest stuff and wait for any hack to release.

And suppose if i am buying a new psp3000, can i play many demo games on it without the UMD. I mean by saving the games on my memory card.

Please guide me!
 
Either wait for the hack (i heard darkalex is no longer working on it,maybe untrue)

or buy a second hand PSP2000 (check the condition and everything carefully before buying)
 
^^ yes you can play demo games but what's the fun in playing demo games. Moreover I don't think there are too many demo games available. I know coz a friend of mine is having psp3k and he is having a hard time getting demo games.

u can play demo's

but best bet for u would be a second hand psp2000
 
how to know which firmware is there in psp3004 because have it
n wt is meaning of psp modded

n if psp firmware can be hacked can pirated games can be played by downloading on memory card ?
p.s. sorry if my questions r dumb :)
 
I dont know guys, I wanted to get a new PSP3000 eventhough I will not be able to play any ISO games. But will I be satisfied by installing and playing many demo games, watching videos, listening to music and internet browsing? Can I download and copy demo games to the memory card and play them directly? I dont wanna regret buying a PSP 3000.
 
Well with the 3000.. you can play original games no issues.. but CFW is where it is at... i recently bought an original model ie PSP 1000 ... one of the launch units in fact for Rs. 3000. Love the CFW support, emulators, apps, etc make it worthwhile for me. You hav e to decide what is your priority.

Another thing you might want to keep in mind is that the PSP is already over 5 years. So its replacement MIGHT be announced at E3 this year with a possible release next year. In anycase .. the next PSP should be here in another year or so....

SO keep that in mind before you make any decision.

hey buddy.... i just picked up a psp 3000 for my cousin with firmware 5.03, i soft modded the device myself and it worked like butter. why dont you try searching in some grey market for the device with the firmware 5.03, thats how i got one for my cousin. ask the seller if this device is hackable or not, im sure they will help.
