A new homebrew media player for the PSP has been released by Korean developers, avi, mov, mp4, ogm, mkv, nut, asf, wmv, mp3, m4a, wma, ogg, asf, wav, MPEG1/2/4 video(divx, xvid), Windows media video, Ogg theora, Mpeg audio(MP2, MP3, AAC), AC3, OGG, Windows media audio are ALL SUPPORTED. It is capable of running 480x272 full screen video with almost no framedrop, despite it's simple GUI this is one very powerful media app for the PSP.

you will probably need custom firmwares to run this !

and ppl, can someone help me out with its working.. I placed it in my PSP/game folder and when i start it gives me an error code of 80020148. I am currently on CFW 3.80 m33 . have the same problem with lightmp3.

is there any other player using which we can play Divx/Xvid Avi movies directly. Currently i have to convert it to .mp4.

i found another software called PMP Advance which plays files which are in .pmp format (use xvid4psp to convert to that format).. has the ability to include subtitles as well..has a wonderful interface as well !

try it out !

Finally got down to trying it out and it works for me.

I got a psp phat running 3.90 M33-2 with the 1.50 kernel addon.

A mp4 converted for the psp played pixellated and was quite horrendous. Not tried any other formats.

Music and photo output was fine.

lol.. I know that.. but if a mp4 runs badly why would I try anything else.. and I'd rather convert a video to mp4 if I want to watch it on the psp. I'd have to re-encode the avi's to a 480x272 divx video anyway. Makes no sense putting a 700 meg avi on to the psp does it .. and.. there's always PIMPStreamer !!!

yup u r right that u have to re-encode the divx movies to 480x272 before playing it on psp.

I think PIMPStreamer requires Wifi :(
