psu for my rig.,.......urGENT.suggestions needed
guys i got my new GPU today.powercolor 4870 1GB GDDR5
i dont have a good psu for that.
so lukin 4wrd to buy a new smps for my system

AMD PHENOM II X4 B50@3.1GHZ
BIOSTAR TA785GE 128M
CORSAIR XMS 2x2GB@800MHZ
SAMSUNG 1TB SATA 32MB BUFFER
POWERCOLOR 4870 1GB
LG DVD WRITER

I am palnning to get a cpu cooler like vendetta\sccf\truen for overclocking it to around 3.8
will be buying one hdd also in future

i am thinking of any of these
corsair vx450
TAGAN TG500-U37
TAGAN TG600-U37

i have a budget of 4k max...no streching.which one shud i buy tomoro.?????
give ur important suggestions?????
please....as i want to make a decision by tomoro morning
 
VX450 wins via 5 year warranty, better efficiency, and nearly 570W of true output capacity.
 
Go for Galcial power 650 Watts @ 4.8K, Very high Efficency better then Corsiar VX 450, But warranty of just 2Years.

try to read the thread properly.... it clearly says that hes max budget is 4k.... so a vx450 will suffice....

VX450 is good but overpriced by 1k(if anyone remembers for how much VX 450 was selling abt a year and half back)

Buy it via ebay using discounts else CM realpower 460w-3.6k, Tagan BZ 500w-4.5k(modular I think), Antec 650w Earth watts-4.8k, GP 650w-4.6k are in the price range of 3.6k-4.8k

only cm RP and Corsair PSU have 5 yr warranty
 
VX450 will not be sufficient for the mentioned specs n the mentioned Tagans, are not advisable :/

They (all the 3) will work/run/etc n others are using it on heavier H/W .. but, at the risk of blowing up the H/W.

Ur best bet is the GA650AA for +4.6K n yes, I read the part in Ur thread that Ur budget is 4K but adding a few more hunners is more sensible than risking Ur H/W .. hence the advise.

Rest is upto U .. U can be ignorant and do what so many other ignorant noobs are doing or be smart n look at what the more experienced, are doing.

My 2 cents.

And if U still get the VX450W .. pls do Ur self a favor .. n never EVER OC Ur GPU !!!

I completely agree with you, spending 4.1K & ignoring a better buy at 4.6k, Just because you want to save a 500 Bucks, i feel is not a good Idea, Though a PSU is a core item of any rig it is seldom upgraded as quickly as say a mobo,cpu,gpu etc,etc.
 
guys...guyz....i orderd tagan TG500W for 3.4k....lets stop the quarrel...thanks alot for ur valuable suggestions.....

Between, Who is Quarelling here ;) ! You wanted an advice and you got it in tons, Just that every one has posted there point of view weighing there own pro's & cons.

Also please update us with your valueable feed back of Tagan 500 when it is up an running.

How much you paid for Sapphire power color 4870 1GB including shipping charges if any.

its powercolor one...not sapphire...

hello friend iam also having powercolor hd 4870 and my psu is tagan tg600 u37 that actually capable of generating 700 watt if needed and works fantastic no problem at all let me tell you one important fact about psu there are extreme power and real power former is affordable and efficient latter is expensive but efficient too .but both gives appropriate power when it comes to experience. so i would suggest you tagan . if you have a lot of money then you could well consider corsair otherwise be wise.
