Hi all. I've decided to go with core i5 instead of a C2Q. I've decided to buy the core i5 750 and gigabyte P55M ud4 for which i've reserved about 18k.
Now i need suggestions for the following 5,
1. DDR3 RAM
2. 500 Gb hard drive
3. Graphics card
4. Pc case(within 2.5k)
5. Suitable Psu.

My budget for the above 5 is upto rs.22k which i'm ready to extend upto 25k.
**I use this PC mostly for gaming.**

1. Corsair TWIN3X2048-1333C9 2GB DDR3 RAM- 3k

2. Seagate ST3500420AS 7200.12 - Around 2.7k

3. Palit GTS 250 1GB DDR3 RAM - 8.3k

4. CoolerMaster RC-330-KKN1-GP Elite 330 Black - 2.1k

5. Any Generic 500W PSU will do

Total - Around 17-18k

This just baffles me a little, exactly why on earth did you advice the OP to buy a generic 500W PSU with that system?? :S

@ OP:

Invest in a better PSU, not any of those generic ones. A Corsair VX450 or higher.

You don't need a fancy PSU for that configuration. I would have suggested him a better, branded PSU if he was to use multiple HDDs, or a powerful GFX card such as the nVidia GTX series.

@OP, its your choice ultimately, if you have the monies to boom, go ahead and get an CoolerMaster PSU :) This is the one:

CoolerMaster RS500-PCARA3 Extreme Power + 500W - 2.8k

They're here in the Member's Market, so you could order from here itself if you want

As suggested above never go with a generic psu

gskill DDR3 CL7 2x2gb for ~5-6K(through KMD perhaps)
seagate 7200.12 for ~2.5K
palit gtx 260 216/sapphire ati 4870 1gb for ~10-11K(consider msi gtx 260 twin frozer too)
coolermaster elite 310/33x for ~1.5 to 2.2K
corsair vx450 4.2K

Could you please mention display size/gaming resolution?

@a5hr1th
Did you really just suggest a generic PSU for a ~50k rig excluding display? Do you have something against the TS? XD
EDIT: Rubbish justification in your next post really ticks me off.

The sheer stupidity and cockiness of the above post pisses me off.... uugh :@

@OP:

Please don't try and run the GTS 250 with a generic PSU. I use one of those cards and you do need a decent PSU with a 6-pin PCI-e connector supplying power to it.

Thank you. I am currently planning to use my old 17" crt which supports max of 1280x1024. If possible, i'll buy benq e2200 hd monitor. Can you please give the price of that? Are there any better alternatives available at the same price?

The core i5 supports only dual channel ddr3. Can ddr2 be used in that board?

Benq e2200HD is available for approx 10k.
other alternative is the samsung 2233SW for 9k approx or 23" samsung lavender series for 12k.

yes, core i5 boards (P55) support ddr 3 memory only. why to go for ddr2 when you are choosing an i5. ddr3 is the way going forward though its slightly expensive.

Hi. Thanks. I just wanted to know which of these would perform better at 1920x1080 for gta 4 and others.
Radeon 4870 HD 512 MB or GTS 250 1 GB.
Because i found that the prices of both sapphire radeon 4870hd 512mb and zotac gts 250 1gb as the same.

4870. For nvidia option, GTX 260 core 216 is a good VFM.

Thanx. My friend said that antec earthwatts 650w is available at almost the same price as corsair vx450. Is that antec available in india? If yes, what's the price of that?

Forgot to ask. If i buy a gtx 260, will a vx450 be enough?
If not please suggest psu within 5k.
From which manufacturer should i buy gtx 260?(zotac or palit)

Go for the

Glacial Power AL650AA... PSU[ can supply upto 733W]
here is the review GlacialPower GP-AL650AA 650 W Power Supply Review | Hardware Secrets

its around 4.5k I think definitely below 5k - it does nt have full sleeving like vx450 but it is the best VFM psu out there with upto 90% efficiency... VX450 is definitely great but really overpriced.
