Quake live open beta starting today...

And it still crashes both IE and FF. I tried reinstalling the whole damn thing, but no use! It has been this way the past two releases of the plugin
 
i finally tried it yesterday ....crashed twice..and thats abt it...might as well play the old Q3/cpma ....live offers nothing new..other than being able to play it on browser...back in college we had to run q3 from a remote machine on which we managed to get admin rights and installed it....20 guys would access that same machine and run q3 and we would all play in the comp lab...damn those were some days...now with quake live...the guys at college now should be able to install on the local machine since its just a plugin and frag away in the lab...thats the only pro i see...

those were the best days we had in college :D

don't bother with quake live... the pings are terrible. if you want to play cpma i'm always ready :)
 
Sorry to awaken an old thread...
Has anyone found a good server? The best I could get at was 250 on the Frankfurt2 server, which isn't good enough.

you won't find any servers with a better latency than that. the closest servers are based in europe. that's why the game is unplayable.
